Sterling Red Transfer Restaurant Ware Chop Suey Serving Dish
This unusual piece of red transferware heavy restaurant ware china was made by Sterling in 1952. I believe it's a chop suey dish, used in a Chinese or other Oriental cuisine restaurant. It has a low pedestal base, elongated diamond shape, and measures 7*1/2" by 5-1/8" by 1-3/8" high. The red transfer design is floral with a basket in the center and a border of geometric dots and crossed lines.
There are some white utensil marks in the surface but no chips or other damage. The underside is marked Sterling Vitrified China, East Liverpool Ohio U.S.A. and has a 1952 letter M date code. The letter Y is also stamped underglaze, separate from the backstamp - I'm not sure what it stands for.
Circa: 1952

Walker China Childs Restaurant Ware Divided Nursery Rhyme Plate Red Riding Hood
This vintage 8-1/4" restaurant ware grill plate by Walker China of Bedford Ohio features transfer decal illustrations of nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters in each of the three divided sections: the Three Little Kittens, Mary Had A Little Lamb, and Little Red Riding Hood. The designs are in colors of red or pink, green, and gray.
The heavy commercial quality plate is in very good condition with some light utensil and stacking marks to the glaze but no damage. The date code system used by the company is a bit confusing - according to my books it could have been made in either 1939 or 1961, but I believe the latter date is probably correct based on the company's logo above the date code.
Circa: 1961

Set 4 Syracuse China Restaurant Ware Butter Pats
This set of four Econo-Rim restaurant ware butter pats was made by Syracuse China in the 1930s. They are 3" diameter, quite thick and heavy for their size, tan in color and plain except for the embossed dots and scallops borders. Two are unmarked, the other two are marked as shown with 1938 and 1939 date codes. None have any chips, flakes, or cracks but the two that are marked have considerable staining and rub wear. I washed them but didn't try to remove the gray marks as I didn't want to remove or damage the glaze.
Circa: 1938

Airbrushed Wellsville China Individual Restaurant Ware Creamer
This Wellsville individual restaurant creamer has an attractive blue-ish gray airbrushed organic design on both sides. One side is obviously a leaf, the other is probably a flower, but every time I look at it I think of a seal! The creamer is 2-3/4" high and in excellent condition with no damage. The underside is dated 1960.
Circa: 1960
