Italian Wall Tapestry Rug Mother Bear and Cubs in Forest
This extra large wall hanging tapestry rug no longer has its label, but it was made in Italy in the 1930s or 1940s. It's huge, nearly 6 feet wide by 4 feet high. The scene is of a mother bear playing with her baby cubs in a deeply wooded fall forest. The colorway is mostly yellows, golds, and black with some greens and rusts. It's really beautiful.
The tapestry is in very good condition for its age with no stains or holes. The only issues I can see are tattered corners, probably from the rug being tacked to a wall, and some very minor and temporary crushing of the napped fibers from storage.
Circa: 1930s - 1940s

Eames Era Mirrored Shadow Box Wall Display Shelf White and Gold
Back in the 1950s and early 60s, it was hard to find a home that didn't have a shadowbox display shelf on the wall. This one is quite attractive with a gold-veined mirror back with wooden frame and shelves painted creamy white with gold accents along the outer frame molding edges. The shadow box measures 28 by 24 inches. It extends five inches from the wall and has 3" deep inner shelves.
The shelf is in very good condition with no damage and little wear. The upper and lower inner wood panels (shelf and top pieces) have a couple of small nicks or scratches to the paint, and there is some minor chipping and wear to the corners and edges, none of which will be at all noticeable when hung on the wall. The back top has two sturdy metal hinged loops for hanging. A wonderfully retro piece of Eames Era wall decor to display your Mid-Century treasures. This item is too large to safely ship internationally.
Circa: 1950s

Old West Pioneer Folk Art Chalkware Wagon Train Wall Plaque
This wonderful folk art chalkware or plaster wall hanging came from a local Mormon Utah estate. It depicts a family of Mormon pioneers (or at least it is assumed they are Mormons) crossing the mountains in their covered wagons. One wagon with oxen and family members are depicted in high relief in the foreground, and you can make out other covered wagons and horses in the background.
The plaque is 16-1/4" wide by 8-12" high, all hand formed and detailed, not mold-poured. The paint is somewhat worn at the high points, mainly the leaves of the trees. There are some insignificant minor scratches and rubs, and a couple of shallow flakes or chips at the very top edge. The only noticeable chip is a 1/4" by 3/8" flake along the right edge, visible in the first and last photos. There is considerable age patina to the paint.
This interesting piece of old West Mormon folk art dates to at least the 1930s, if not earlier.
Circa: 1930s

Trio of 1940s Feather Art Bird Pictures
Three folk art feather craft or feather art pictures from Mexico, circa 1940s. They have real bird feathers and hand painted foliage on black backgrounds, under glass with bark-textured gilded wooden frames. Each picture is about 7-3/4" by 5" and has a wire hanger attached to the back. A little dust has seeped in under the glass over the past 60-some-odd years, otherwise they're in excellent condition. Some of pictures are washed out due to bad lighting - the colors are much better in reality. Price is for the set of three.

A beautiful single Victorian candle sconce in heavy spelter metal from the Art Nouveau era. It's 15 inches tall, depth from the wall to the candle bobeche is 8-1/2". At some point it was painted white, but the original finish appears to have been gilded. The narrow sconce has a lady's face in high relief at the center focal point, the candle cup is ornately engraved with floral motifs. There is some natural age wear to the paint as shown but the new owner may wish to completely strip it and restore the original finish. There are no breaks or repairs to the metal.

Pair 1958 Tropical Hawaii Samoa Framed Prints - Cruise Ship Menu Art
These attractive tropical themed framed watercolor prints are actually the covers of dinner menus from a Matson Lines cruise ship, the SS Lurline, dated 1958. Both are the artwork of Louis Macouillard. One print is titled Hawaii (the beach scene with the fishing nets, the one with the grass huts at water's edge is titled Samoa. When you remove the prints from the frame, they open up to reveal two different dinner menus on board the cruise ship. The Hawaii menu is intact but the Samoa print has been cut apart at the back near the center fold but both parts are present.
They're in good condition, mounted in basic wooden frames with gold trim under glass. Shipping is calculated with the glass, but if you like I can ship without the glass for considerably less postage (2 lbs boxed weight vs 4.5 lbs).

Tropical Island Caribbean Woman Tooled Copper Relief Framed Picture
This vintage hand tooled embossed copper relief picture depicts a tropical island woman, presumably Jamaican or Carribean, with palm trees and tropical foliage in the background. The scantily clad lady wears a sarong and balances a basket of fruit on her head.
The picture is 8 by 10 inches, in a standard ribbed wooden frame that has been painted a copper color that closely matches the copper metal sheet. The artwork is very well done, an enormous amount of fine detail was given to the scene. You can see the muscles and curve of the woman's tummy, the flowered pattern on her skirt, even her toenails.
The frame is in decent, displayable condition with a wire hanger on back but it does have some scuffs to the paint and the inside of the glass looks like it needs to be cleaned. The tooled copper picture itself is in excellent condition.
