Click for more detail...
5009

1930s Revere Copper Egg Boiler with Whistling Chick Finial This is a scarce piece of 1930s copper cookware by Revere - the official name was "Chic Whistling Egg Cooker", complete with yellow plastic chick whistler on top. The two pans fit together similar to a double boiler. The upper pot has a center pillar with water line markings for soft, medium, and hard cooked eggs. There's also a water fill line on the outside of the lower pot. You fill the pans with water and heat. When the eggs are cooked to the desired hardness or softness, the chick whistles.

The cooker is just over 5-3/4" high by 5" diameter with 5-1/2" brass handles. It's very clean inside and out with the exception of some light sediment in the lower pot. The undersides of both pots have several small dents and dings. The hard phenolic plastic chic is cracked on one side. The particular mark on this piece - Rome Metal Ware / Revere Solid Copper - was used only from 1929 to 1932.

Please note that today's eggs are larger than they were 70 years ago - you may not be able to cook normal sized grocery store eggs in this piece.

Circa: 1930

4992

5 Piece Lot Red and White Graniteware Enamelware with Saucepan An assortment of vintage red and white graniteware or enamel ware. The best piece of the lot is the saucepan. Nice and heavy, it measures 7" diameter by 4" deep and holds 2 quarts. One side has a pour spout. There's some chipping of the enamel where the handle is applied at both sides, otherwise in very good condition.

Two of the pieces have white fronts and red backs - an 8" plate marked Sweden and a 5-3/4" diameter by 2-1/4" deep bowl. The plate has chipping at the rim, the bowl has only one tiny rim flake.

The other pieces are a 9" diameter plate in very good condition and a basin style bowl, 8-3/4" diameter by 3" deep. The bowl has no chips but there's some rub wear and light scratches in the bottom. Only the Swedish plate is marked.

6380

Wagner Ware Sizzling Steak Hammered Aluminum Meat Platter This heavy hammered aluminum well and tree footed steak or meat platter by Wagner Ware has to be pretty rare. I can't find another one like it and it's not even in my Book of Griswold & Wagner (all the others are but not this one). It stands on four legs and is 12 by 8 inches. The back is marked Wagner Ware Sydney -0- and No. 3340, also "The Original Sizzling Steak Platter, Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." There are a few very shallow, light utensil marks on the surface. You have to look closely to see them amid the hammer marks. Otherwise excellent condition.

4070

German Brown Glazed Redware Star Food Mold This very attractive ceramic cake, pudding, or gelatin kitchen mold was made in West Germany around the middle of the last century. It's 8" wide by 2-3/4" deep, star shaped with an impressed star in the center and a pretty filigree flower pattern on the outside. The pottery is a terra cotta colored redware with a rich, shiny brown glaze. The back side of the hanging loop is marked with the number 965-19 and faintly impressed W. Germany. In excellent condition with no chips, flakes, scratches, or other damage. Any white spots in the pictures are from reflections or glare.

7341

Descoware Enameled Cast Iron Covered Large Skillet According to the book "Groovy Kitchen Designs for Collectors", Descoware was a line of upscale porcelain enamel cast iron cookware that was imported from Belgium at the close of WWII. This flame orange skillet is just over 11-3/4" diameter by 2-1/2" deep and has a wooden handle with hanging ring. The length from handle tip to opposite rim is about 22 inches. It's a perfectly good, useable pan but it does have some cosmetic issues. There are cooking stains on the underside which I didn't remove as I'm not sure of the best cleaning method that will leave the shine and finish intact. The interior has some minor enamel wear on the rim and a few light scratches on the bottom from stirring and utensil use but these aren't serious. And finally, the lid has a 2 inch long crack at the rim, though it's still functional. I can ship the skillet only without the lid if the buyer prefers which will reduce the shipping cost.

5838

Guardian Service Aluminum and Glass Ice Bucket This scarce cast aluminum ice bucket was part of the Guardian Service Ware line of cookware from the 1930s to mid 1950s, produced by Century Metalcraft. It's 6-1/4" tall to the rim by 6-3/4" diameter not including the metal tab handles. With the distinctive armored knight logo glass lid it's about 9" tall. The lid of course fits any 6" diameter Guardian Service pot or pan.

The ice bucket and lid are in excellent condition. The liner has no scratches, cracks, or stains and the orange peel textured checkered aluminum bucket is shiny with no scratches. The lid is completely free of flakes and chips.

4991

Savemaster Guardian Service 1 Quart Pot or Casserole This one quart casserole or pot is marked Savemaster on the underside, but it was made by Century Metalcraft and is definitely Guardian Service Ware. Since Guardian cookware was sold exclusively through salesman and at home parties, I believe the Savemaster name was used for products that were distributed through normal retail channels.

The heavy, hammered aluminum casserole pot is 6-7/8" diameter by 2-1/2" deep. It's very clean and shiny with few signs of use or wear.

6378

Guardian Service Oval Meat Platter This heavy textured aluminum Guardian Service Ware oval meat or serving platter by Century Metalcraft doubles as a lid for the roasting pan. It's 15" wide handle to handle by 10-1/4" wide. Shiny and relatively clean on top, I was unable to get the underside as clean as I'd prefer as the house we moved to last year doesn't have a self cleaning oven (which is the trick to getting your Guardian cookware looking shiny and brand new). Some very minor utensil marks on the smooth rim, no scratches or nicks anywhere else.

5117

Guardian Service 15 Inch Round Tray or Platter This is the round tray in the Mid Century Guardian Service hammered aluminum cookware line by Century Metalcraft. It can be used as a platter, a serving tray, or a pizza pan, though its main function was to allow the Guardian trio pots to all cook together on a single burner. It measures 15-1/2" diameter, nearly 18" handle to handle. Super clean and shiny with no problems.

Guardian Service Cookware Gravy Boat This hammered orange-peel texture aluminum gravy boat server is an accessory piece to the line of Guardian Service Ware cookware by Century Metalcraft. It's 8-3/4" by 4-1/2" by3-3/4" high. An underliner plate was sold with it but the liner isn't present, just the server itself. There is some shallow pitting inside but it's from the manufacturing process, not from use. The gravy boat is bright and shiny.

7467

Copper Cookware Set 4 Pieces Plus Lids This 7-piece set of stainless steel lined copper cookware was made in the early to mid 1980s in Korea. It includes an 8-3/4" diameter by 4" deep Dutch oven style cooking pot, an 8-3/4" diameter skillet, a 7-3/8" by 3" deep saucepan, a 6" diameter by 2-1/4" deep saucepan, and three lids. The saucepans each have their own lid, the skillet and large pot share a lid. It was a moderately priced set when new, not professional quality but not the cheapest copper cookware you could buy either.

All of the pieces are in excellent condition and spotlessly clean. It looks like they were used very little if at all - there are some minor marks from storage but not the kind of normal scuffs, scratches, or utensil marks you might expect to see on cookware that received regular or even occasional use. Please note the sizes listed above, as this type of cookware may be somewhat smaller than what you're used to using.

Click for more detail...
4960

Presto 1940s Cook-Master 4 Quart Pressure Cooker The patent number on this vintage aluminum Presto 4-quart pressure cooker dates to 1940. though it could have been produced later, after the war. It has brown phenolic plastic handles and a slight orange peel texture to the lid, the petcock is present. The pot is about 5-1/4" high by 8-3/4" diameter, not including the lid or handle. Oddly, the underside says Model Sixty while the metal plate on the cover says Model 604. The fit is precise and the handles match perfectly, so I doubt the two pieces are a marriage. I would guess the cooker was manufactured at a time of change in model numbers.

The cooker is in great condition, shiny inside and out, though the lid could use a better cleaning than what I gave it. There are a few marks to the outside surface of the pot from use and storage, and some stir marks inside, nothing major. The rubber gasket is not crumbling or hardened.

Circa: 1940s

7455

Corning Blue Cornflower Bake Broil Serve Tray With Cradle Stand This 1960s Cornflower Blue broiler tray by Corning Ware can be used as a broiling pan, a meat or carving platter, a baking sheet, an underliner to catch spills when baking pies & such, or as a serving tray. It measures 16-1/4" by 10-1/2" and is marked "Corning Ware P-35-B, Broil, Bake Tray, Made In U.S.A.". It comes with a chrome and teak wood handled stand or cradle.

The excellent condition with no chips, flakes, scratches scorch marks or stains. Other than some gray marks on the underside from contact with the metal stand, it would be in mint condition. The stand is in great shape too, a couple of light storage marks to the left side handle, no wear to the shiny chrome finish.

7297

Revere Ware Copper Clad Stainless Steel 8 Quart Stockpot This vintage Revere Ware copper clad stainless steel covered stockpot holds 8 quarts and is 7-1/2" deep to the rim by 9-1/4" diameter not including the handles. It does not come with a lid, but the lid to the 4 quart saucepan I have for sale fits the stock pot as well. The stainless steel interior has the beginnings of scattered, very shallow pitting (from salt use) and a few light stir marks. There are a few insignificant cleaning and storage marks on the shiny exterior but overall the pot is spotlessly clean and and great condition. Made in the USA in Revere's Clinton Illinois plant (sadly, what is now loosely called Revere Ware is made in China these days and is nowhere near the quality that it used to be).

Vintage USA-made Revere Ware heats evenly, is almost impossible to dent or severely scratch (you can use metal utensils again!), cleans up like a breeze, and unlike much of today's cookware, was not built to self-destruct with consistent use. If you do happen to scorch a Revere Ware piece, you don't have to be afraid to ruin the finish trying to clean the pan.

Click for more detail...
6923

Revere Ware Copper Clad Stainless Steel 1.5 Quart Covered Saucepan I believe this vintage stainless steel copper bottom Revere Ware saucepan is a 1-1/2 quart size, though it actually holds a good 2 cups more than that to the rim, which is how most cookware capacity is determined. At 1-1/2 quarts full, this pan has more than an inch of stirring room. It measures 6-3/8" diameter by 3-3/8" deep.

The copper has been polished to a bright shine, the interior is clean and shiny, the exterior sides could use a club soda wipedown to remove those darker heat marks above the copper line. There are no dings or scratches but the outside walls do have a few storage rubs and scuff marks. The Bakelite lid knob and handle have a dry, faded appearance from age and dishwasher use but this doesn't affect strength or performance. This is USA made Revere circa 1950s, marked on the bottom with the older Process Patent logo.

6902

Revere Ware Copper Clad Stainless Steel 2 Quart Covered Saucepan A two quart saucepan with lid in sturdy stainless steel with copper bottom by Revere Ware. It measures 7-1/4" diameter by 3-3/8" deep. The pot is in excellent condition and polished to a mirror-bright shine. There are some light surface cleaning and stir marks inside, pretty much a given with stainless cookware. The lid and exterior sides have a few faint, minor marks from storage but no dents or dings. Made in the USA in Revere's Clinton Illinois plant (sadly, what is now loosely called Revere Ware is made in China these days and is nowhere near the quality that it used to be).

Vintage USA-made Revere Ware heats evenly, does not warp, dent or scratch easily (you can use metal utensils again!), cleans up like a breeze, and unlike much of today's cookware, was not built to self-destruct with consistent use. If you do happen to scorch a Revere Ware piece, you don't have to be afraid to ruin the finish trying to clean the pan.

It has a glass handle and detachable snap-off stainless steel band. The green stamped Flameware logo is still intact. The bottom of the pot has noticeable stir marks. The pot is clean with no chips, flakes, or fleabites, and no rust to the metal parts.

Revere Ware Steamer Insert for 2 or 3 Quart Saucepan This is a vintage stainless double boiler steamer basket and strainer insert for the old copper-bottom Revere Ware saucepans. The stainless steel insert is 7" diameter (inside measurement), 9-1/2" across from handle to handle, and 2-3/4" deep. It's in excellent, clean condition with no dents and little wear.

4317B

Revere Ware Stainless Steel Double Boiler Insert For 1 Quart Saucepan This is a Revere double boiler insert designed for use with the 1930s through 1970s vintage Revere Ware copper-clad saucepans. It's the smallest size they made (and probably the hardest to find), to fit a 1-quart to 1-1/2 quart saucepan, or any pan that is 5-5/8" to 5-7/8" diameter and at least 3" or more deep. The stainless steel insert measures 7-3/4" handle to handle (just over 6" without the handles) and is 2-3/8" deep. The stainless steel finish is in excellent condition, clean and shiny with no dents or dings.

2348-2

Revere Ware 2 Quart Double Boiler Insert This is a Revere double boiler insert designed for use with the 1930s through 1970s vintage Revere Ware copper-clad saucepans. It will fit a 2 quart saucepan (the insert does not hold 2 quarts), or any pan that is 7-1/8" to 7-5/8" diameter and at least 3-1/4" or more deep. The second photo shows it in my 3-1/2 quart pan. As you can see it works in that size but it isn't a snug fit. The stainless steel insert measures about 9-1/2" handle to handle (just over 7-1/2" without the handles) and is 2-3/4" deep.

The stainless steel finish is in excellent condition, still shiny with no dents or dings, though there are some hair-fine cleaning and polishing marks. The yellowish color is a factor of the lighting in the photo only, and the insert is shinier and brighter than it appears in the photos.
