1951 Delfts Birth Plate With Baby and Stork
This beautiful little Holland Delft plate commemorates the birth of Ralph Edward Good, born April 4, 1951. A lovely scene in traditional Delft blue and white of a stork carrying a baby to his waiting cradle decorates the plate. Even the cuckoo clock on the wall has been personalized with the baby's time of birth.
On the back of the 6-1/4" plate is a crown over oval mark with what appear to be the intertwined letters A and S, along with the words Delfts Holland Handpainted and what appears to be the artist's mark or initials. Around the back top and bottom rim is the hand painted message "With the compliments of Cecil S. Woodbrey, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.". One minor craze line to the surface glaze, otherwise in perfect condition with no wear or damage.
