Kitschy 60s Stained Glass Birds Ashtrays Mint in Box
This 1960s pair of glass ashtrays appear to never have been used. They come in their original box that says they were made in Japan for S.S. Kresge stores. The 4" diameter ash trays have metallic foil reverse designs of stylized Op-Art partridge-type birds with flowers in shades of blue, green, and yellow. The foiled backs are protected with green flocking which also protect your tabletops. Both are in excellent condition, the box is good too with an ink mark crossing out the printed price and a pen-tip puncture in the same spot.
Circa: 1960s

Manufacturer: SS Kresge

Silver Tavern Scene Repousse Ashtray
This individual silver ashtray is about 4 by 3 inches. The center has a classic tavern scene, the reticulated rim is a scrolly floral design. I can find no markings and it does not appear to be plated (no plate loss or wear in places there should be if silverplate), but it's obviously some type of silver as it does tarnish.

Blue Pottery Toothache Puppy Dog Match Holder, Delft Shoe Ashtray, Barrel Toothpick
Three small vintage pottery pieces, all in blue or blue and white. The Delft shoe is probably an ashtray, as there's a slight indent on the rim at the heel. It measures 4" wide by just over 2" high and is decorated with comma stroke leaves and a windmill scene. The underside is marked Elweco, Hand Painted, Delft Blue.
The match holder is in the shape of a spotted Dalmatian puppy with a blue bandage tied around his jaw as if he has a tooth ache. Marked Japan on the underside, 2-3/8" high.
The last item in the lot is a 2" high barrel shaped toothpick holder with a pretty blue glaze, unmarked. All three items are in very good condition with no chips or damage.
Circa: 1930s - 1950s
Manufacturer: Elweco and Others

Hotel Fort Kearney Nebraska Green Glass Match Stand Ashtray
An interesting Depression era green glass match holder ashtray with advertising and painted decoration. The ashtray is from Hotel Fort Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska as lettered inside around the match stand. The underside is painted black, probably to better show the lettering, and the outside and rim have red and yellow rings or stripes. The underside is embossed with Pat. App. For and D.M. Co. which may be an abbreviation for Duncan and Miller (that's the only glass manufacturer I can think of with those initials which was around in the 1920s and 30s).
There is a bruise chip on the lower outside edge, shown in the second photo. The lettering is worn at the H and O in Hotel, and the E and Y in the second Kearney. Hotel Fort Kearney closed permanently 35 years ago.
Circa: 1920s
Country of Origin: US
Manufacturer: D.M. Co.

Heavily Engraved Brass Cigarette Dispenser or Jar
This pretty covered brass jar may have been sold as a cigarette dispenser - it's the right height, but it can of course be used to hold anything you like. It stands 4-3/4" high to the top of the lid finial, just under 3-1/4" high to the rim without the lid and is 3" diameter at the opening. The jar and cover have a pretty all-over engraved design of flowers and leaves. The underside has an etched mark reading India 349-J. The jar is in excellent condition, bright and shiny with no dings or scratches. I have a brass vase with a nearly identical design listed elsewhere in the shop.
Circa: 1950s - 1970s

1950s Chartreuse Pottery Ashtray With Pixie Figurine
A big, super retro coffee table sized ash tray from the 1950s with a dark green ceramic pixie figurine on the rim. The ashtray is 9-1/2" square and finished in a glossy chartreuse glaze. The pixie is posed on her tummy with legs outstretched and is tipping her cap in salute. The underside is signed simply "Rita".
The glossy glaze has some crazing and there is a shallow chip to the inner wall of the underside rim which is only visible when the ashtray is turned upside down and tilted sideways. The visible surfaces, including the pixie, are all in very good condition with no chips, flakes, or damage.
