1960s Tiki Mug From Kon Tiki Hotel Phoenix Arizona
This 6 inch tall vintage ceramic tiki mug is from the near-legendary cocktail lounge of the Kon Tiki hotel in Phoenix Arizona, which is no longer in existence. It's standard light brown in color with a carved effect face. The base looks like an Otagiri mug, but there's no label or manufacturer's mark. The back of the mug is clearly marked underglaze however: "Kon Tiki Hotel Phoenix Arizona".
The mug has no chips, flakes, or cracks. If you look closely you can see a thin horizontal line near the top going all the way across the mug, more prominent on the back than the front. This line is underglaze and appears to be a paint flaw - it is not a crack or damage, nor a separation or ridge in the pottery - I checked both sides under magnification to be sure. I did note some faint glaze crazing under magnification, it's very mild and not noticeable.
Circa: 1960s
Country of Origin: JP
Manufacturer: Otagiri for Kon Tiki Hotel

3 Retro 1960s Golden Pixie Musical Pixie Elf Figurines
These funky tropical pixie elf figurines were made in Hong Kong in the 1960s. They were called "Golden Pixies" and have blue eyes, gold hair and golden brown skin. They're between 6-1/2" and 7" tall and are made out of a celluloid-like sturdy hard plastic with softer plastic used for their instruments and arms.
The pixies are dressed in velour and lamé clothing trimmed in gold braid, and have jeweled rings, caps, and belt ends. Each holds a different musical instrument and comes in an open box which I believe is original (they would have come side by side in a larger outer box). All are in excellent condition except the one in the red jacket - it has a crack in the plastic at the bottom front edge. Price is for the set.
