Porcelain Angel With Horn Wired Tulle Wings Clip On Christmas Ornament This clip-on ceramic musical angel figurine Christmas ornament was made in 1950s Japan. About 3-3/4" high, she has wired tulle wings decorated with glitter and holds a musical horn instrument in her raised arms. A metal spring clip is attached to her back so that she can decorate your Christmas tree as an ornament, or adorn a wreath or other decoration. She also stands upright as a figurine. Marked Japan in red on the underside, the angel is in excellent condition with no damage or crazing, and little if any wear to the gold trim. Ideal for display year round as the gold and white colors are not specific to Christmas only.

5516

3 Dimensional German Plastic Angel in Moon Christmas Ornament This is an early plastic Christmas ornament, made in pre-war Germany. It's a 3-dimensional diorama style ornament with a curly haired cherub or angel holding a lute inside a yellow moon shaped circle, 1-3/4" diameter. A thin gold cord is attached to the top loop for hanging.

The angel is wonderfully detailed and hand painted. It's in good condition with no chips, cracks, or damage, however it has some soiling to the face and bare feet and should be cleaned (try just a q-tip and water first as I'm not sure whether the angel's paint will survive anything stronger). The ornament is marked on the back Made In Germany.

The ornaments are 4" diameter and have satin hanging cords tied to the tops. Each angel wears a different colored gown and plays a different musical instrument. They come in the original plain cardboard box with a label marked Made in Hong Kong. The ornaments are in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or damage other than an occasional rub mark or light scratch.

6568

Box Noma Pink White Wired Tulle Chenille Angel Christmas Tree Lights A very hard to find boxed set of working Angel Lites for Christmas or to decorate a girl's room by Amico Noma. There are ten screw-in type miniature white lights on the string, each held by a little pink or white angel figure. The angels are between 2-1/2" and 2-3/4" high, with wired tulle gowns and wings decorated with glitter. They have yellow curly chenille halos atop spun cotton heads and chenille arms.

The lights work perfectly as you can see. The set was apparently never used - the cord is still factory coiled and has the bagged replacement bulb and foil Made In Japan label attached. The only sign of wear is some mild discoloration to the angels' faces - I think that just comes from age and storage. The box is a bit age yellowed too but is intact with no tears or damage.

Circa: 1960s

Manufacturer: Noma Amico Division

Pair of Vintage Kneeling Singing Angel Figurines Two sweet little angel figurines, made in Japan in the 1950s. They're dressed a bit like little nuns in kneeling poses, with open O-shaped mouths as if they're singing. One holds a candle, the other a harp. The candle angel is 3-1/2" high, the other just a touch smaller. The wings of the harp angel have been repaired at the back center - it's an excellent repair job, very difficult to spot. 6296

1950s Spaghetti Angel Figurine in Blue Gown with Lyre This 4-1/4" platinum haired spaghetti angel looks like a typical 1950s figurine of Japan production, but apparently she was made in this country, perhaps by a small studio pottery. Written on the unglazed bottom in green script is "Pat. appl'd" and a number that dates to patent numbers issued in 1956.

The angel wears a long blue gown trimmed at the hem with spaghetti fur. She has a gold ring halo and holds a gold and white lyre, with one hand extended away from the body, about to play music. Her wings and fur are trimmed in gold. There is some light crazing and a tiny speck of extra pottery at the back of her gown, otherwise she's in excellent condition with no chips or damage.

4546

1940s Christmas Angel Net Dress, Composition Face, Mohair Wig - Treetop or Ornament This lovely old Christmas angel doll figures is 7-1/2" wide, about 6" high, and can be hung on the Christmas tree as an ornament or used as a tree top angel. Her dress is stiff nylon netting with satin lining, decorated with gold foil stars and a gold metallic ribbon sash. The angel's wings are heavy gold foiled paper outlined in thick, furry white chenille. Her head is a composition or clay-like material, with hand painted facial features and mohair blonde hair.

The dresse is a bit dingy but not dirty or stained, though the chenille on the wings does have some yellowing. I see no other problems, just typical signs of age and use common to any 60-plus year old Christmas decoration. There are no labels or markings but I doubt she's any more recent than the post-war 1940s. Two are shown in the photos but only the white dress angel remains - the pink one has been sold.

National Tinsel Spun Glass Scrap Angel Christmas Tree Topper in Original Box A lovely, old fashioned angel scrap Christmas tree top made by National Tinsel. This is the early, original version made in the 1930s. It's about 8" diameter, with a paper scrap angel face amid clouds of curly angel hair and a scalloped halo of spun glass fibers. She has gold foil scrap wings and is surrounded by five gold foil stars.

The angel appears to have some fading, yellowing, and shows signs of having been damp at one time. The back of the topper has some light staining as shown. The curly angel hair cloud is lush and full without any snarling, snags or pulls. The spun glass fibers have some normal thinning, mostly near the top. The box is in very good shape for its age but does have a grease pencil price is marked on the front.

4762

4 Porcelain Christmas Angel Bell Ornaments I love these little 1950s angel bell ornaments - I call them the Uh-Oh girls. Don't the open O-mouth expressions on their faces say "Uh-oh, we've been caught red-handed"? Whatever they've been up to, they're simply adorable.

About 1-5/8" tall, each angel holds a different item - a star, candle, or gift, and each has a colored satin ribbon tie (worn and faded now, and one is almost completely gone, only the knot remains). One is missing her ceramic clapper, the other two make a little tinkling ring when shaken. None have any chips, cracks, or flakes. Marked Japan in red on the insides.

**Update: Update: I've added a fourth angel bell to the group, shown in the first and last pictures. She's very similar to the other three but a little larger. Excellent condition with clapper intact. I've dropped the price a bit too.

5995

1950s Foil and Celluloid Angel Tree Topper Mint in Box This late 1940s to early 1950s Christmas angel tree topper decoration does not appear to ever have been used. The original box isn't marked with a manufacturer's name, just the words Christmas Tree Top Angel and Fireproof.

The angel is made of a very thin, molded celluloid type hollow plastic. She's mounted on a textured foil star about 8-1/2" high by 8" diameter. A cutout in the back allows you to insert a light bulb to illuminate the angel if desired. The angel is perfect with no damage, the foil star has a couple of very minor bends to the tips, just from being taken in and out of the box. The box itself is missing the cellophane window and an inside flap but is in otherwise good condition.

Pair of 1950s Tinkerbell Fairy Candle Climbers Made in Japan in the 1950s, this adorable pair of fairy or pixie figurines are candle huggers or climbers, made to look like Tinkerbell. I used to think these scantily dressed figures were racy angels until I saw the matching Peter Pan climbers.

They're about 2-3/4" high with pearl luster dresses and wings and platinum blond ponytails, marked Japan on the undersides. Their arms will encircle just about any style of taper candle. In excellent condition with no damage. I have two identical sets available.

6385

Valentine February Birthday Angel Bell Figurine A rather fancy and very pretty porcelain February birthday angel figurine from the 1950s, about 4-1/2" tall. She's a bell, with the wired ceramic clapper protected up inside her dress and fancy gold trimmed petticoat base. She holds a red heart with gold bow and wears a red heart hat over her coiled platinum ringlets hairdo. Her red and white dress is trimmed with spaghetti fur at the sides and the word February is written in script below her apron. There is little doubt that the angel was made in Japan, but there is no label or manufacturer's mark, just a faintly impressed number on the underside.

One of the angel's wings has been repaired, a clean break and an expert fix - you can see it only looking straight on from the back if you look closely. No other problems.

5585

Christmas Cherub Angel Jewelry Industry Council Promotional Figurine This charming 4-1/4" ceramic angel or cherub figurine is marked Jewelry Industry Council on the underside. Curious, I tried to research further and found a mention on the internet of Operation Cherub, a Christmas advertising campaign by the council in the mid 1950s to promote jewelry as the "gift of love". The cherub figurines must have been used as a store display, or perhaps as a purchase premium.

The curly platinum haired angel wears only a discreet undergarment and a fur trimmed flowing red robe, with gilt trimmed wings extending from the back. He or she is holding a wrapped gift decorated with a bow, gold berries, and green holly. The eyes are closed and framed in long eyelashes, the cupid's bow lips are painted dark pink or light red. The only other marks on the bottom are a hand painted letter H and one or two red slash marks. Excellent condition with no crazing, chips, flakes, or other damage. Two are shown, only one remains.

5735

Sweet Porcelain Angel Cherub Night Light I believe this beautiful little porcelain bisque cherub or angel lamp is a night light. It's just under 5 inches high. The curly haired, blue eyed angel has gold tipped feathers on her wings and holds a cornucopia of dimensional applied pink and white roses in one hand. The other hand is held in front of her, separate from her body.

The lamp has a long white 68 inch cord with an on/off switch attached near the body. It has the old fashioned non-polarized type plug but is in good condition with no damage or wear, and the light works fine. The angel has no chips, cracks, or damage but there's a small line of gold paint on her right cheek near the roses, a paint miss by the artist, as well as a couple of pinpoint paint flecks near the hairline and on the tip of one finger. Original red and gold foil label reading Sanmyro Japan is intact at the base.

Set 3 Composition Paper Mache Christmas Angel Figurines These three musical angel figurines would display well all year, not just at Christmas. They were made in Japan by Dickson in the 1960s. Made of hollow composition material like chalkware or paper maché, they're lighter in weight than they appear but still very sturdy. The tallest angel in the blue gown is 4-3/4" high and plays a violin. The pink angel has an accordion or squeeze box, and the sitting angel in green has a flute. This angel has some missing paint at her feet but the coloring makes it very difficult to detect. The blue angel is missing her label on the bottom, otherwise they are all in good condition.

Good-Lite 1940s Lighted Angel Christmas Tree Topper With Box A Good-Lite Electrified Christmas Tree Top Angel from the 1940s with the original box. Made of thin hollow vacuform plastic with a cardboard backing, the oval angel plaque can be used as a window, mantle, or wall lighted decoration as well as a tree topper. It's 7 by 9 inches and has a light socket with bulb clipped to and opening in the back to illuminate the large winged haloed angel. An unpunched keyhole above the bulb will allow you to hang the angel on a wall or suspended in a window, the coiled metal extension below the bulb fits on to the top branch of a Christmas tree.

The cord and plug are in good condition with no brittleness or damage. There's a little wear to the back edges of the cardboard backing, very minor and nothing that shows from the front. No breaks, cracks, or damage to the angel, and it lights up fine. The box is missing the upper flap and has typical wear from age and storage, one broken but not detached crease to the upper edge. Cellophane window is intact.

Homco Angel With Baby Figurine This 7-1/2" tall Home Interiors & Gifts ceramic figurine depicts a dark haired angel in flowing robes holding a dark haired infant in her arms. The robe is green, pink, and gold over a white gown. This is number 1436, I think there was a series of guardian angel figurines like this. In mint, unused condition with original styrofoam insert holder and plastic covering but without the box.
