Cute 1960s Japan Pixie Elf Pincushion Christmas Ornament Mint in Package
Pixie On A Pillow by Yuletide of Japan, an adorable and useful rendition of the ever-popular poseable pixie elves from the 1950s and 60s. The girl pixie elf with wired legs and arms is sitting on a stuffed pillow which can double as a pin cushion - in fact, two glass head pins are included, anchoring her feet to a corner of the pillow. About 4-1/2" high by 3" wide at the bottom. There is a gold cord on her stocking cap to hang as an ornament. Unused and mint in the original sealed package.
Circa: 1960s

Musical Tinsel Christmas Tree Loaded With Retro Pixies, Elves
This terrific vintage musical revolving tinsel Christmas tree came with three or four pixie elves glued to the branches and base. As a pixie collector myself, my motto is that you can never have too many, so I added a few more. The tree is between 17" and 20" tall, depending on how high you extend the top center branch. The limbs are blue and green metallic foil tinsel, each ends in a gold glass silvered ornament ball (all but two are original). The tree rotates and plays Jingle Bells when you wind it up.
The base is decorated with a tinsel and glittery cardboard drum, a spun cotton Santa gnome peeking out of a paper brick chimney, a foil and velvet wrapped package, and a great pixie in a drum figure with chenille arms and body.
In the tree branches are two knee hugger style pixies, one holding a real pine cone, the other holding a bell ornament, a funky skinny skating Santa pixie, a little cloth face with yarn hair pixie elf at the top, and two package tie-on type pixie heads with polka dot caps and scarfs. The tree is in good vintage condition, displays wonderfully, and the music box works. The wooden music box base is marked Japan. The figures that were added by me are not glued or otherwise permanently attached so you can position them as you like.

Box of Retro Pixie Elf Christmas Lights - 10 Elves on Working Mini Light String
If you're a fan of those retro, poseable 1960s pixie elves like I am, you'll just adore this boxed set of Made In Japan pixie Christmas lights. There are ten pixie head light covers, each with red caps, white scarves, vinyl doll-like faces, and fringes of fake fur hair peeking from their caps. They have holes in the back to slip over the midget lamp light bulbs on the string.
The pixies and the light string are all in excellent condition and the lights work fine - it looks as though they were used for one Christmas then put away for 40-some years. The box has minor shelf wear but is intact and in good condition with no tears or splits, and with cellophane window intact.

Four Retro Japan 1960s Christmas Pixie Elves
Here are four adorable collectible Japan Christmas pixie elves, made in Japan in the 1960s. They have wired legs and arms so you can pose them and are all about 5-1/2 inches tall, except for the one missing his cap (he probably lost it on purpose because he thinks hats are nerdy, like my kids!).
The pixie on the far left in the photo is a girl doll style, with painted fabric face, yarn hair, and mercury bead trim at her collar. The other three have happy plastic faces, felt jester suits and pointy toed shoes. Each has a bit of tinsel garland trim at their wrists and ankles and holds a musical instrument (there is a gold violin for the green elf, it just got left out of the photos). All but hatless boy have gold cord hangers so you can hang them from the Christmas tree as ornaments.

Fairy Light Santa's Workshop Pixie Elves Tinsel Tabletop Christmas Tree Set Boxe
This wonderful tabletop lighted Christmas tree decoration dates to the early 1960s. It's a green and blue aluminum tinsel tree, just under 20 inches tall, decorated with mini lights, gold mercury glass bead ornaments and an angel tree topper. Leaning against the tree is a ladder with three climbing skinny pixie elves holding spun cotton lanterns. Another elf and a Santa Claus figure, both also holding lanterns, stand at the base of the tree.
The set comes in its original box with setup instructions on the outside of the box. The tree and figures are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear and use. One light burns very dimly, obviously it's going out but the box says the other bulbs stay lit if one burns out, and of course all the bulbs are replaceable. The box is taped and has storage wear but is intact. The box says "Fairy Light Tales, Santa's Workshop, Electrically Illuminated". It was made in Japan for Radiant Decorative Lights of Bronx New York.

Dozen 1950s Japan Chenille Spun Cotton Pixie Elves Lucky Brooch Mint in Pkg
One dozen adorable, retro little 50s elf or pixie figures made of chenille with hand painted spun cotton heads. They have pin clasps on the back plus a T-pin so you can wear one on your lapel or pin it/stick it wherever you like. About 4" tall, the elves have flocked caps and metallic silver foil collars, the bodies are old fashioned striped chenille in various colors. Each holds a wire staff or walking stick. Still sealed in the original cellophane packages with paper headers that say "Lucky Brooch, Japan, Hand Made". One was opened for the pictures. The cellophane has become brittle and darkened with age, but the elves inside are fine. Ideal for party favors or Christmas stocking stuffers.

Vintage Chenille Pixie Elf Christmas Candy Container
These adorable, very unusual 1960s Christmas candy containers feature waving pixie elves sitting on the toes of plastic boots. The pixies have chenille bodies and plastic or vinyl heads. The boot containers are trimmed with gold braid and sprigs of enameled holly and berries. The boots are 3" high by 3-1/2" wide (the total measurements are bigger with the pixies). They're marked Japan on the underside of the boots and on a label at the back of one pixie's cap. There is some age discoloration to the chenille and felt, some wear to the holly including one missing leaf on the green container, and the red pixie's holly has come unglued from the side of the boot. The gold cord hanger has also broken on the red pixie container. Wonderfully retro Christmas kitsch, and terrific additions to any pixie elf collection. Price is for the pair.

Treasure Craft Lucky Sprite Pixie on Swing Figurine
This cute little 1950s ceramic Treasure Craft of California pixie sits on a swing with a cotton cord rope through his hands. Treasure Craft called their pixies Lucky Sprites.
The pixie/sprite is 2-1/2" tall and dressed in a well-defined chartreuse suit with hearts at the chest and belt buckle and pointed boots. His hand painted face looks dirty in my pictures, at least on the cheeks, but it's mostly a trick of the lighting. There is a bit of soiling on his unglazed face but even under magnification it's hardly noticeable. No chips, cracks, or other damage.

1960s Japan Poseable Christmas Pixie Elf With Chenille Legs
Here's another variation of those retro Japan-made pixie elves from the 1950s and 1960s, this one with unusual chenille arms and legs. It just wouldn't be Christmas at my house without a couple dozen of these happy fellas perched all over. With the seemingly unlimited selection of styles and types of pixies that were made in the 1950s and 60s, they're exceptionally fun to collect and display.
This pixie is a little over 6-1/2" standing. His legs and arms are fuzzy green chenille stems, his short felt coat shows off the cute skinny legs and felt boots. He has a cord hanger so you can hang him from the Christmas tree, a lampshade, coat hook, or wherever you'd like. There is some fading to the green color of his felt cap and the chenille, and a stray spot of reddish brown paint on one cheek - just a beauty mark. A paper Made in Japan label is attached to the back of his coat.

Lefton Luster Pixie Fairy on Flower Boot Planter
This Lefton pixie planter is a cutie - she's actually a pixie fairy, with little wings. She's posed seductively on the toe of a big pixie boot and winking one eye. The glaze is white pearl luster on both the boot and the pixie's outfit, with light blue trim on her cap and wing tips. The shoe is decorated with little applied pink and blue flowers. The planter has a red and gold foil Lefton's Exclusives sticker on the underside and is numbered 50478. It measures 7-1/2" wide by a little over 4" tall and is in perfect, unused condition with no wear or damage.

2 Retro Metallic Lame Christmas Poseable Pixie Elves
Two retro 1960s knee hugger pixie elves, dressed in green and gold lamé suits with white felt trim. They have little jingle bells on the toes of their boots, and the red elf has a jingle bell at the tip of his hat. Their long legs can dangle loose, or be tucked up with their arms around them. Both are about 12" long with legs extended, 5" in the sitting position (measured to the tops of their heads, not including the length of their caps).
The pixies have a few random loose strands of lamé at the seams, a common occurrence with this type of metallic fabric. The green pixie's face has some little spots of stray paint or dye on his face. No labels but undoubtedly made in Japan. Both pixies have gold cords for hanging.
I have a good sized collection of pixies myself, and one the things I most look forward to each Christmas is posing, perching, hanging and dangling them all over the house. They're such cheerful, happy little guys you can't help but want more once you get started with them!
