Hardcover Book A Needlepoint Gallery of Patterns From the Past, Phyllis Kluger This 1975 hardcover book by Phyllis Kluger has a wonderful variety of 102 needlepoint designs adapted from historical artwork. Each pattern is photographed in both color and black and white, with a clear chart showing stitch type, placement, and color.
The designs are grouped into 10 historical eras: Minoans, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Near East, Greece and Rome, Byzantine Empire, Middle Ages, Islam, Renaissance, 17th to 19th Century Europe, American Folk Art.

American Eagle Dritz Patriotic Needlepoint Canvas To Finish Original Tags This vintage Dritz needlepoint canvas has a fabulous American Eagle design pre-worked in the center - you just fill in the background with needlepoint stitches and frame or mount as a footstool or bench cover, cushion, pillow, chair back, etc. The spread wing eagle has an American flag shield in its talons as well as arrows and a quiver. A pink E Pluribus Unum banner and green leaves with red berries completes the attractive design.

The original Dritz tag is attached stating Made In Madeira. The 16 by 21 inch canvas is 100% cotton, the needlepoint is done in 100% wool.Excellent condition with no damage.

Kitten in a Flower Basket Embroidered Pillowcases To Finish With Edging This pair of 100% cotton pillowcases is embroidered with a charming design of a kitten playing in a flower basket. The embroidery work is completely finished, but the cases need top seams and the openings finished with crochet or lace edging, or just hemmed. Someone cut the tubing too long on one case, too short on the other, making one only 23" long (the extra length is on the other pillowcase so you if you don't mind an extra seam you can compensate). No stains or damage, just some very slight age yellowing that should come out with laundering.

Southern Belle Embroidered Pillowcase to Finish with Crochet Ruffles This vintage cotton pillowcase is embroidered with a Southern Belle design: a girl in bonnet and full hoop skirt holding a flower basket. A garland of pastel flowers is embroidered over the entire scene.

This type of pillowcase was designed to have crocheted ruffles at the bottom of the girl's dress and extending all the way around the opening to form the edging. The embroidery work has all been done (and done very well by the way). All that's needed is the crochet work. Or if you don't crochet, you can achieve a similar effect with sewn-on lace. The pillowcase is 35" by 20-1/2". In very good condition with no stains, tears, or damage.

Sunset Stitchery Indian Pottery Crewel Stitchery Kit Kachina Vase This unused, still sealed crewel embroidery needlework kit is from Sunset Stitchery Designs and dated 1978. Titled Indian Summer Maize, it features a Native American pottery Kachina vase full of dried flowers and Indian corn, stitched on brown poly/rayon fabric. When finished the picture will fit a 20 by 40 inch frame. The unopened kit is complete with printed fabric, wool yarn, needles, and instructions.

It includes a faux tortoiseshell Lucite sew-on purse frame, marked off 14 mesh needlepoint canvas, interlining material, and satin lining fabric. You choose your own design or pattern to stitch onto the canvas, it is not pre printed. The hinged double handle frame is 9" wide. All materials are in excellent unused condition, the paper insert and plastic packaging have storage wear as shown.

Bucilla Jeweled Christmas Stocking and Snowman Pillow Kits This pair of unused Bucilla Christmas needlework kits appear to be from the late 1940s to early 1950s. I don't see a date on them but the illustrations are photographed in black and white and they are marked Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. One is for a Santa's Engine Jeweled Kiddie Christmas Stocking. Includes felt stamped for easy-to-do applique, gold braids, sequins, beads, pom pons, embroidery floss, and instructions.

The other kit makes a Snowman Furry Pillow. The kit includes everything but stuffing - white soft furry fabric, felt, moveable eyes, pom pon nose, and embroidery floss. Both kits are still sealed, complete and unused. The pillow kit has a small tear in the plastic front and the illustration sheet is creased from storage. Price is for the pair.

Crinoline Lady Crochet Pattern Booklet - Southern Belle Designs Crinoline Lady in Crochet is a crochet pattern instruction booklet by Spool Cotton dated 1949. The patterns are for Southern Belle or Colonial Girl type designs with long ruffled dresses. Included are filet crochet chair sets, doilies, bridge cloth, table runner, a framed picture, Crinoline Lady trims for guest towels, hankies and table linens, and of course the ever-popular pillowcases. Pair 1950s Crochet, Needlepoint, Hooked Rug Pattern Booklets Two different pattern instruction booklets for crocheted and other types of handmade rugs - you're sure to find at least one that is just right for your home. Lily Rugs Design Book No. 54 is dated 1950. It has 14 fabulous patterns for needlepoint, applique, pom pom, hooked, and fluff or tufted style rugs as well as crocheted. The patterns are all very attractive and don't look like hobbyist or homemade projects.

American Thread Star Rug book No. 134, Crocheted Rugs, isn't dated but it's also from the 1950s. This one has patterns for a play pen mat, footstool cover, novelty floor and bed pillows, and a bathroom toilet seat cover and rug set as well as area and throw rug patterns. Both books are in very good vintage condition with no tears or damage.

Pineapple Fan-Fair Crochet Pattern Instruction Booklet Pineapple Fan-Fair dated 1950 by the Spool Cotton Company has 11 designs (some in multi-piece sets) for pineapple thread crocheted doilies, runners, mats, tablecloths, hot pads, pot holders, and chair sets, photographed in black and white. The booklet has the name Ada written discreetly on the cover, otherwise good vintage condition with no damage or tears.

1943 Heirloom Filet Crochet Pattern Booklet Heirloom Filet Crochet, copyright 1943 by the Spool Cotton Company is a 32 page pattern booklet for crocheted tablecloths, bedspreads, centerpieces, doilies, edgings, runners, chair sets, and more in filet stitch designs. I counted patterns and instructions for 30 different items, a couple for matching items in the same design (runner and placemats or doily for example). The booklet has typical corner and cover wear but no tears or writing.

Coats and Clarks Edgings 1949 Crochet Pattern Booklet Clarks O.N.T. J & P Coats Edgings Book No. 254, dated 1949 The Spool Cotton Company. 16 pages, 32 different patterns for crocheted edgings and insertions for collars, cuffs, hankies, towels, pillowcases and sheets. Includes cornered designs, monogram inserts, hairpin lace, and several edgings using rick-rack trim. I inadvertently took a picture of the back cover instead of the front - the front depicts collar and cuff designs. Some "thumb through" or handling wear, no tears or writing.

2 Crochet Flower Doilies Pattern Booklets 1949 1950 Two different crochet instruction booklets for making pretty flower doilies. The first is Flower Garden Doilies by Lily Mills, dated 1950. It has 14 different patterns for doilies, table linens, and coasters, including a pretty lacy tablecloth with colored flowers. The cover has split down to the center staples and is almost off, otherwise it's in good condition.

The other booklet is Floral Doilies by Spool Cotton Company dated 1949. It has 11 patterns, along similar lines as the first (but different designs of course). The front cover has separated, otherwise it's also in good condition. Several of the patterns in both books would make great go-withs to vintage floral dinnerware patterns like Desert Rose, Cornflower, Black Eyed Susan, Dogwood, Apple Blossom and others.

2 Star Doilies 1950s Thread Crochet Pattern Booklets These two Star Doily crochet instruction books by American Thread Co. aren't dated but they're from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Book No. 104 is titled simply Doilies. It has 10 patterns for flowered, ruffled, pineapple, and other crocheted doilies, plus knitted and hairpin lace styles. Book No. 120 is Doilies, Doilies and More Doilies, with nine very pretty doily patterns. The first book has a minor crease across the center from being stored folded, otherwise it's in good condition. The second book has a name written in ink on the cover, and the cover center seam is taped.

Handkerchief Edgings and Floral Insertions 1940s Crochet Pattern Booklets A pair of vintage crochet pattern instruction booklets with pretty designs for crocheted lace edgings and insertions.

Star Cotton Handkerchief Edgings by American Thread Company is dated 1948. It has 25 different patterns for edgings and corner insets for hankies, all photographed in black and white. Of course they work equally well on table linens and pillowcases too.

Floral Insertions and Floral Edgings by Spool Cotton Company is dated 1949. It has 20 different beautiful flower edgings designs, seven of which are tatting patterns, all photographed in color. They can decorate pillowcases, curtains, table linens, clothing, hankies, and more. The Handkerchief book has a partial split at the center fold of the cover down to the first staple, otherwise both are in good vintage condition.

Queen Anne Band Sampler Cross Stitch Chart Pattern This is a 1995 charted counted thread pattern titled Queen Anne Band Sampler by the Samplar Workes of Towson Maryland. The packet includes instructions, stitch diagrams, color key for silk or cotton threads (design also uses metallics and beads), and a color photo of the finished sampler. Complete and in good condition with no writing or tears.

Correct Table Settings by The Spool Cotton Company is dated 1949. It has six patterns ranging from tea, luncheon, buffet, wedding and dinner table linens, as well as diagrams and instructions for proper table settings, including serving and table decoration.

Matching Sets in Crochet by Clark Thread Company is dated 1951. It features patterns for lacy crocheted centerpieces, runners, doilies, and mats, each design in various sizes. Both booklets are in very good vintage condition with no tears or writing.
