Victorian Crazy Quilt Velvets and Silks 62 Inch Square
An authentic Victorian crazy quilt combining dark and jewel toned velvets, silks, satins, brocades and a few ribbons with a green silk backing. There is no machine sewing, it was entirely hand stitched, pieced and embroidered. The quilt measures 62 by 62 inches.
As is usually the case with such an old quilt made of such delicate fabrics, many of the silks have shattered, frayed, and completely deteriorated. The velvets, brocades, and sturdier silks have survived well, and the green backing material, while faded, is still intact and undamaged.
