Musical Tinsel Christmas Tree With Retro Pixie Elves in Original Box This terrific 1960s musical revolving tinsel Christmas tree is 20" tall. The limbs are blue and green metallic foil tinsel, most decorated with a silvered glass ornament ball. The tree rotates and plays Jingle Bells when you wind it up. Best of all, three poseable retro pixie elves sit among the branches, including one at the top of the tree. Each holds something to decorate the tree - a glass ornament, a bell, and a pine cone. Wrapped gifts rest at the base of the tree.

The tree is in excellent vintage condition, displays wonderfully, and the music box works fine. The wooden music box base is marked Japan. The box lid has two corner splits and some storage wear, but the box bottom is intact with the original Made In Japan label on the end.

Fabulous Vintage Red Beaded Tinsel Christmas Feather Tree This wonderful vintage red tinsel tabletop or feather size tree was made in Japan. It's 20 inches tall with adjustable sturdy wired branches decorated with colored mercury glass beads. The beads are wired on so you could remove them if you like. The tree is on gold painted wooden base which is stamped Japan on the underside. The tree is in very good condition, no shedding of the heavy metallic red needles and no breaks to the glass ornaments. There's just a bit of color wear to the trunk stem right at the center. The lower branches are 8" long.

6133

Lanissa West Germany Glass Christmas Tree Topper with Santa Claus Figure Made in 1950s West Germany for Shiny Brite by Lanissa, this blown glass silvered Christmas tree top ornament has some unusual details. It's wrapped in crinkle wire and has stiff metallic gold tinsel tails extending from the top of the spire, as well as a chenille and spun cotton Santa Claus elf figure attached to the blue glass lower bulb.

The topper is 12" high, silver and blue in color. The little Santa figure has a spun cotton head with chenille beard and arms (no body, just the head and arms resting on the top of the bulb). The stiff metal tinsel strands are 6" long and drape around the silver spire tip. There are no chips or breaks to the glass but there is some wear to the blue ball, a result of the wires rubbing against the finish, and the upper portion of the tip has some inner silvering loss. The topper comes in its original box which is missing the cellophane window but is otherwise in good condition.

4748

1930s Decorated 15 Inch Bottle Brush Christmas Tree with Glass Candles An old, very beautiful bottle brush style tabletop Christmas tree decorated with mercury glass balls, glass candles, and a glass star at the top. The branches of the 15" high tree, as well as the solid glass candles and star topper, are attached to a steel cone base. You can probably insert a light bulb inside to light up the glass candles and star. I could have done a better job of plumping out the branches for the pictures - they were kind of scrunched up from storage but are easily adjusted and they do not shed.

The tree has twelve 2" glass candles, plus the glass star on top. The star has a few flakes at the points, the candles are all in good condition. In addition, there are about a dozen small 1/2 to 1 inch mercury silvered glass feather tree ornaments hanging from the tree, probably added by the original owner. Again, I could have arranged them better for the photos - I took the pictures with the tree just as it came from storage without any fussing or prettying up. The tree dates to the 1930s, if not earlier, and is still in wonderful condition.

6212

1920s Red Metal Christmas Feather Tree Stand This 1920s red painted steel stand or holder is for a Christmas feather tree, made for the G.R. Kirk Co. of Tacoma Washington, who sold Christmas trees beginning in 1918. The stand is 6-1/2" diameter with a center hole opening just a shade over 1/2 inch diameter. The center has a six point star embossed around the opening and the words "G.R. Kirk Co. Tacoma Wash" encircle the star.

The condition is pretty good for its age with just the right amount of authentic wear. Some expected scuffing to the paint at the high points of the embossing, a few small dings and scratches on the bottom, and very light rust near the underside edge. I'll bet this neat old tree stand could be used as a flag holder when not needed for your holiday Christmas tree.

6833

National Tinsel Spun Glass Scrap Angel Christmas Tree Topper in Original Box A lovely, old fashioned angel scrap Christmas tree top made by National Tinsel. This is the early, original version made in the 1930s. It's about 8" diameter, with a paper scrap angel face amid clouds of curly angel hair and a scalloped halo of spun glass fibers. She has gold foil scrap wings and is surrounded by five gold foil stars.

The angel appears to have some fading, yellowing, and shows signs of having been damp at one time. The back of the topper has some light staining as shown. The curly angel hair cloud is lush and full without any snarling, snags or pulls. The spun glass fibers have some normal thinning, mostly near the top. The box is in very good shape for its age but does have a grease pencil price is marked on the front.

4546

1940s Christmas Angel Net Dress, Composition Face, Mohair Wig - Treetop or Ornament This lovely old Christmas angel doll figures is 7-1/2" wide, about 6" high, and can be hung on the Christmas tree as an ornament or used as a tree top angel. Her dress is stiff nylon netting with satin lining, decorated with gold foil stars and a gold metallic ribbon sash. The angel's wings are heavy gold foiled paper outlined in thick, furry white chenille. Her head is a composition or clay-like material, with hand painted facial features and mohair blonde hair.

The dresse is a bit dingy but not dirty or stained, though the chenille on the wings does have some yellowing. I see no other problems, just typical signs of age and use common to any 60-plus year old Christmas decoration. There are no labels or markings but I doubt she's any more recent than the post-war 1940s. Two are shown in the photos but only the white dress angel remains - the pink one has been sold.

5995

1950s Foil and Celluloid Angel Tree Topper Mint in Box This late 1940s to early 1950s Christmas angel tree topper decoration does not appear to ever have been used. The original box isn't marked with a manufacturer's name, just the words Christmas Tree Top Angel and Fireproof.

The angel is made of a very thin, molded celluloid type hollow plastic. She's mounted on a textured foil star about 8-1/2" high by 8" diameter. A cutout in the back allows you to insert a light bulb to illuminate the angel if desired. The angel is perfect with no damage, the foil star has a couple of very minor bends to the tips, just from being taken in and out of the box. The box itself is missing the cellophane window and an inside flap but is in otherwise good condition.

Mr Christmas Red Tinsel Twin Star Lighted Tree Topper Decoration Boxed This beautiful Mr. Christmas lighted tree top decoration is the same on both sides. It's in the shape of a dimensional 8-pointed star with clear red plastic jewels arranged in a beaded effect at the spikes of the stars, spiral red plastic center ornaments, and transparent red miniature lights, all surrounded by lush, red metallic foil tinsel.

The box is dated 1976 and marked Made in Taiwan. The wreath lights up fine though one bulb lights only occasionally, it either needs to be tightened or replaced and the cord is in good condition. The box lid is torn at the window opening and is missing the cellophane but the box bottom is intact.

6203

Ringalite Red Triple Jeweled Star Electric Christmas Tree Topper in Original Box This Ringalite lighted star Christmas tree top decoration dates to the late 1940s. It's in mint condition in the original box, looks brand new and never used. The topper consists of three layered or stacked hard plastic red glittered stars with a red light bulb in the center (included), about 5" diameter. The effect is prettier when lit than my pictures show - my camera is lousy in dim light. The box is not mint, it has storage wear, a bumped corner, and one corner of the cellophane window is loose.

5605

Green Tinsel Bells Circle of Lights Electric Wreath Tree Topper in Box This lighted tinsel wreath decoration is part of a series of "Circle of Light" Christmas decorations. Other styles had candles or figures like elves or Santas in the center. This one has two brass bells with metal clappers dangling from the center, tied with a red ribbon and lacquered holly and berries. The green lights, crystal flower reflectors, and bright green tinsel are very pretty and festive, even when the lights are off.

The box says it's for windows, walls, or doors but my parents used theirs as a tree topper. The wreath lights up fine and is in good condition, though the red flannel ribbon shows some wear. The box has quite a bit of storage and handling wear but is intact.

6195

1950s West Germany Glass Spire Gold Christmas Tree Topper In Box This 9-1/2" long blown glass spire Christmas tree top ornament still has its original Made in Western Germany paper label and comes in its original plain cardboard box. The spire tip is silver, the lower ball is gold, decorated with a white mica flower with red center.

There are no chips or breaks and the gold and silver finish are in good vintage condition. The red flower centers are worn, more on one side than the other, and the lower opening is transparent gold. The silvering in that area may have worn away from contact with pine needles on the Christmas tree. The box has a grease pencil number written on the lid, otherwise it's in excellent condition.

6126

Good-Lite 1940s Lighted Angel Christmas Tree Topper With Box A Good-Lite Electrified Christmas Tree Top Angel from the 1940s with the original box. Made of thin hollow vacuform plastic with a cardboard backing, the oval angel plaque can be used as a window, mantle, or wall lighted decoration as well as a tree topper. It's 7 by 9 inches and has a light socket with bulb clipped to and opening in the back to illuminate the large winged haloed angel. An unpunched keyhole above the bulb will allow you to hang the angel on a wall or suspended in a window, the coiled metal extension below the bulb fits on to the top branch of a Christmas tree.

The cord and plug are in good condition with no brittleness or damage. There's a little wear to the back edges of the cardboard backing, very minor and nothing that shows from the front. No breaks, cracks, or damage to the angel, and it lights up fine. The box is missing the upper flap and has typical wear from age and storage, one broken but not detached crease to the upper edge. Cellophane window is intact.

5 Pink Glass Long Drop Spire Glass Christmas Ornaments These 5-1/2" long pink blown glass spire drop ornaments are actually small or feather tree size tree toppers. I added the metal caps to hang them on my own tree - I thought they'd make pretty ornaments and they do. When I got them, all five had color loss and scratches at the openings as if from rubbing against pine needles. There is some minor spotting from age and handling in addition to the color loss below the caps but no chips or breaks.
