Box German Indent Glass Christmas Ornaments With Tree Topper Eight indented blown glass feather tree size Christmas ornaments and a matching feather tree topper in their original box, probably made in the late 1930s. The deeply indented spire tree topper is 6-3/4" high, tinted red and green over mercury silver. The 1-1/2" diameter deeply recessed indent ornaments are in pairs, four styles for a total of eight. Two are very dark solid green rimmed in white, almost black, two more are the same style but dark red in color. Two others are decorated with green rims, gold tinted indent ribs or rays, and red star centers. The last pair has a thin rust line at the rim with a flower shape in the center tinted gold, green, and rust-red. One of these has a break to one of the flower petals inside as shown with darkening of the inner mercury silvering.

With the exception of a little wear to the painted rims and the indent break to the ornament mentioned above, all are in good vintage condition with very mild age-appropriate wear. The plain cardboard box has a water stain on the lid and a missing staple at one corner. The box is stamped Made In Germany and has a penciled stock number and price of 59 cents. The ornaments are guaranteed original to the box and not a combination or marriage.

Box 25 Miniature Feather Tree Christmas Ornaments 25 multi-colored mini silvered mercury glass Christmas ornaments, perfect for a tabletop or feather tree. They come in a 1950s mini ornament box. The 13 largest ornaments are 3/4" to 7/8" diameter, the 12 small ones are about 1/2 inch. All have metal caps or wire loops for hanging. One ornament is a double indent. They have typical spottiness and wear from age and handling but no chips or breaks.

5 Tiny Colorful Feather Tree Indent Glass Christmas Ornaments Five fancy feather tree size glass Christmas ornaments from the 1980s, painted in bright jewel tone colors. The red and silver ball is the only "plain" one, the others are indented and have hand painted designs. The green ornament with the twisted icicle finial has one reflector indent, the yellow with pink centers has two, and the pink/green and blue/pink each have three indents. The largest is barely over 1-3/4" long from pontil to the top of the cap, the smallest is just over an inch high. All five are in very good vintage condition with no damage and only very slight wear. The metal caps are unmarked.

8 Tiny Feather Tree Ribbed Cone Drop Glass Christmas Ornaments These eight little ribbed cone or drop glass Christmas ornaments are feather tree size, just 1-1/2" long not including the wire loop hangers. There are four pink, four a dark golden metallic bronze color. There is some loss of the inner silvering, particularly to the bronze ornaments, as well as some age spotting as shown. I believe they were made in Japan.

6 Boxes Tiny Red Shiny Brite Miniature Feather Tree Glass Christmas Ornaments Each of these six boxes has 24 miniature feather tree size red glass Christmas ornaments, for a total of 144. The box says they're for table trees, centerpieces, package ties, and sprays. The ornaments are 15mm or about 5/8" diameter and were made in Japan for Shiny Brite in the 1950s. Each one has a wire loop hanger.

The ornaments have no chips or breaks but appear to have been stored in sunlight, as many have color fading on one side only (you can see this in the last picture). The little boxes are all in excellent condition with cellophane windows intact. Price is for all six boxes.

Box 1965 Shiny Brite Miniature Red, Blue, Gold Christmas Ornaments One dozen miniature or feather tree size glass Christmas tree ornaments in their original box by Shiny Brite. There are four each solid red, blue, and gold 1 inch diameter ornaments. The box has the Max Eckardt & Sons name on it, is dated 1965, and states the ornaments are American Made. One of the gold balls has lost quite a bit of its inner silvering, and there is age spottiness as shown but no chips or breaks, and all have their wire hangers. The cellophane box lid window is broken.

Included in the box is a little manila packet labeled "Wire Hangers Enclosed". When new it held the wire hanging loops now attached to the necks of the ornaments, but the original owner used them to store 12 metal ornament hooks for the tree.

The ornaments are in very good condition, without much of the discoloration and age spotting common to these smaller Mid Century American ornaments. Though they are still shiny and reflective, there is some faint loss of the inner silvering which gives them a near-transparent effect when held up to strong light, but it's not noticeable otherwise.The box has a small split at the center back hinge, otherwise it's in very good condition.

2 Japan Kugel Style Figural Berry Grape Glass Christmas Ornaments These pretty 1920s grape or berry shaped blown glass Christmas ornaments were Japan's answer to German and French kugel Christmas ornaments. The glass isn't as heavy but the ornaments were made in similar manner to traditional kugels, with the mercury silvering and color on the inside of the ornaments.

Both ornaments are about 2-3/4" high. One is a beautiful metallic turquoise blue with wonderful color shading. The other is transparent cobalt blue. It was probably silvered at one time, but as with many antique ornaments, the mercury silvering deteriorated with age, leaving a transparent effect to the ornament. The deep blue coloring is intact, only the silvering is gone. The thin brass caps are marked Japan. The ornaments are in excellent condition with no chips or damage. Price is for the pair.

German Grape Cluster Glass Christmas Ornament with Pink Mica The ultra dark green coloring of this 2-1/2" feather tree size grape cluster blown glass Christmas ornament looks almost black in normal lighting. It's a striking contrast to the hot pink mica glitter leaf cap. The ornament has a little finish wear to the green-black near the bottom grapes but no damage. The metal cap is marked Germany.

German Green Triple Pine Cone Glass Feather Tree Christmas Ornament This beautiful 1920s green glass feather tree Christmas ornament has a 3-lobe pine bough shape embossed with pine needles and three raised pinecones in the center. It's just over 2-1/2" tall. The coloring is still excellent, but as is usually the case with antique ornaments, there is some age deterioration of the inner mercury silvering, causing a near-transparent effect when held up to the light. The ornament was made in Germany though the replacement metal cap is marked Poland.

Box Figural and Feather Tree German Glass Christmas Ornaments With Tree Topper Eleven vintage figural and feather tree size Germany and West Germany Christmas ornaments plus an indented blown glass spire tree topper are in this old German ornament box bottom. When I purchased this set, the box was missing three ornaments but had eight and the topper. I've added three more that coordinate in style and color theme.

The 7-1/2" glass topper is silver with a spire top and deeply indented flower embossed center tinted red, gold, and green. The other ornaments range from 1-3/4" to nearly 2-1/2" high. Shapes include a cottage or house, a cluster of acorns on oak leaves, a stippled and spiral twisted bell, a quilted basket, a heart, a snowflake embossed disc with scalloped edges, a lantern, a fruit basket, a deep colorful round indent, a stylized organic nut type ornament, and a round ball with gold band and white mica squiggle lines. The ornaments range from 1930s to early 1950s production. A couple have replacement caps but I believe all were made in Germany and West Germany. The box bottom has age discoloration but is intact. There is no lid.

German Stippled Pink Bells Glass Feather Tree Christmas Ornaments Two very pretty mercury glass bell shaped Christmas ornaments, made in Germany from 1910 to early 1920s. They're feather tree size, just 2-1/4" tall from the pontil clappers to the top of the metal caps. The pink bells are decorated with rows of in-mold stippled beading and center bands of painted white wavy garland decoration. The ornaments are in wonderful condition considering their age, good color with minimal wear. The white paint is surprisingly well preserved. The ornaments do have typical loss of the inner mercury silvering which causes an almost transparent appearance when held up to the light. It's rare to find a matching pair of these antique figural ornaments, especially in such good condition. They've obviously been together for around 90 years!

4 Feather Tree Berries Glass Christmas Ornaments Four beautiful 1920s feather tree berry glass Christmas ornaments, just 1-3/4" high. They're raspberry type, molded in high relief with beautiful detail. All are a deep gold color with red tint at the leaf cap tops, slight color shade variations as shown. The metal caps are marked Japan. Excellent condition with no damage.

Pair German Feather Tree Clapper Bells Glass Christmas Ornaments These two tiny feather tree bell Christmas ornaments have the same mold blown design - random rectangle bricks over a stippled background. They were probably once the same color too, but now one is a deep mauve pink, the other has just a little pink tint over faded silver.

The bells were made in Germany in the 1910s or a bit earlier. They're feather tree size, just 1-1/2" high. The darker colored bell still has its wired bead clapper. No breaks, holes or chips, just the color fading and mercury deterioration as shown.

Bumpy Hearts German Feather Tree Glass Christmas Ornaments These stippled or bumpy heart shaped miniature glass Christmas ornaments were either made right before or right after World War II. This shape was popular in pre-war Germany and the unmarked metal caps are from that era, but the dark earthtone type colors were most popular in the late 1940s and very early 1950s. The ornaments are just 1-3/4" high by about 1-1/2" wide. The dark red, green, and gold hearts are in very good condition with no damage or paint loss, though they are beginning to show the first signs of natural deterioration of the inner silvering - mainly a slight transparency near the necks and bottom tips.

Pink and Green German Embossed Flower Small Glass Christmas Ornaments Two pretty and unusual mercury silvered glass Christmas ornaments, made in Germany in the 1920s to 1930s. They are egg or oval shape with big flowers embossed in high relief on both sides over a slightly stippled textured background. One is pink, the other light green. The ornaments are 1-1/2" wide, about 2-1/4" high, just the right size for a tabletop or feather tree. The green has a small pike chip visible just below the metal cap, the pink has mild finish wear, otherwise great condition for their age.

Pair Italy Mini Figural Glass Mushroom with Berries Christmas Ornaments These feather tree sized blown glass Christmas ornaments are really neat little mushrooms with lacquered red berries in the recessed centers of the stems, made in Italy. They're just 1-1/2" and 1-5/8" high, gold and red with white polka dots on the caps. Similar Italian mushroom ornaments without the berries are shown in the book Christmas Revisited by Robert Brenner. The smaller mushroom is chipped at the pike but the cap pretty much covers it. Otherwise excellent condition.
