Circa: 1930s Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Unlabeled This old leather coin or change purse was a souvenir of Yellowstone Park, no doubt meant for a child. Made of sueded buckskin, it's 4-3/4" by 3-1/2" with a tasseled rayon cord carry strap or handle. One the front is a hand painted scene of Old Faithful geyser.
The purse is in remarkable condition for its age, undoubtedly stored away and never used. There is no wear, damage, or soiling. Painted leather souvenirs were popular in Yellowstone gift shops in the 1920s and 1930s, though I'm sure a few could still be found in West Yellowstone tourist traps during World War II.
