This 1930s mercury glass figural Christmas tree ornament is in the shape of a fish, about 3-3/4 inches long. The mold is well defined, with clearly visible gills, fins, eyes and mouth. Age and normal deterioration of the inner mercury silvering have serendipitously created a luminous pearly pastel shading that is realistically fishlike - palest yellow, white, green, and pink. The ornament has a semi-transparency when held to the light. In excellent condition with no chips or breaks.
