This neat old Yellowstone National Park souvenir is a wood dresser, trinket, card, or jewelry box with a hand carved scene of grizzly bears on the lid. Below the four bears is a log shaped banner with the word Yellowstone carved in primitive lettering. The box measures 5-1/2 by 4 inches by about 2 inches high. It has box corner joints and a beveled fitting under the lid to keep it from sliding.
I'm not sure of the type of wood, possibly pine but definitely not cedar. The carved bears have some separation lines or age cracks but they don't go all the way through and are in no danger of splitting or breaking off. There are a few very minor scuff marks, nothing serious, otherwise the box is in very good vintage condition.
