Circa: 1950s Country of Origin: Japan Manufacturer: Mid Century Japan Import
Two sweet curly-haired porcelain ceramic choir boy figurines for Christmas from 1950s Japan. They're a little over 5 inches tall, wearing long white robes with black neck ties. One holds a lyre, the other an altar candle. The boy with the harp has his hand extended, his finger pointing to his lyre or his friend, depending on their position.
The figurines are marked only with paper Japan labels but they're nicely painted and the quality is very good for Mid Century Japan dimestore figures. There's some minor wear to the gold trim at the backs of the boys' collars as well as the occasional random sand speck or tiny glaze skip to the white robes. No chips or damage.
