Three rare and unusual Victorian tin Christmas tree clip-on candle holders, used for lighting the tree in the days before electric lights. They are larger than most candle clips and have a fancy embossed shield shape. The adjustable crown-tip candle holder heads swivel from side to side so you can adjust the candle on the tree branch.
The candle holders are a little over 2-1/2 inches high by1-1/4" wide. They are decorated with bright lead or tin glaze paints in red, blue, and purple with green or gold scalloped garland bases. They aren't marked so I'm not sure if they're American or German made but they date to the late 1800s. All three work properly and are in great condition considering their age. Price is for the set of three.
