A large antique embossed paper scrap and tinsel Christmas ornament featuring an angel holding a feather tree in one arm, a lit candle in her other hand. She wears a crown and a long pink gown with jeweled collar and placket. She has long white wings at her back, but clear red cellophane-type wings have been added at the sides. The angel is framed in figure-8 loops of wired gold feather tinsel, a spray of fine gold tinsel strands above her head.
The ornament is 10 inches long overall by 7 inches wide across the cello wings. The stiff paperboard back piece is marked in pencil with what looks like 4¢. The only damage is a pair of brown stains above the angel's knees. The litho print is embossed, glossy, and fairly heavy. I doubt the ornament is Victorian but should date from around 1910 to the early 1920s.
