This Mid Century Christmas angel ornament was made in West Germany by Koestel. She's a little over 3-1/2 inches high and has a molded, hand painted wax face with green-over gold hair. Her cape and gown are grayish-purple velvet with gold brocade and metallic gold braid trim. She has gold foil wings and carries a small scroll in one hand, a wax candle in the other.
The candle is distorted, probably from coming to close to a Christmas light bulb but it has not been lit. There are a few creases to the wings but no tears. The cone dress is open at the bottom so you can use the angel as a tree topper, or hang her from the Christmas tree by the metallic gold cord.
