This late 1800s Jugendstil Art Nouveau hand wrought brass desk accessory combines a letter holder or rack, an inkwell, and a pen rest. The three letter divider panels are hinged to fold down, though I don't know why you'd want to hide the lovely poppy flowers decoration. The two prongs on the front panel can serve as a pen rest, but it's possible they originally held calendar pages. At the front the hinged panel lifts up to reveal an inkwell.
The underside is marked D.R.G.M. 237670 Ges. Gesch. The brass has not been polished and has original patina. The cutout poppy flower stems at the centers of the back two dividers and the upper edge of the tallest divider are very slightly warped. About 7-1/2 inches lengthwise by 5-3/4" wide at the back by 4-1/2 inches high.
