History Of The Item: Austrian double-handled hand-painted porcelain urn was produced in the L. 19th-E. 20th Century. The Austrian "beehive" mark on the base emulates earlier marks from the Royal Vienna Porcelain Factory. The beehive symbol is actually a shield viewed upside down. This mark was first used in 1744 by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Vienna. The firm made porcelains, called Royal Vienna by collectors, until it closed in 1864. Many other German, Austrian, and Japanese factories have reproduced Royal Vienna wares, complete with the original shield or beehive mark.

Hand Painted Fruit Pattern Pitcher 5-5.5 inches tall. Nicely hand painted apple, pear, plum, and grapes with pale blue background. No chips, nicks, cracks, or breaks. In a couple places the paint overlaps and looks like a crack, but this has been examined under a powerful light. It is just the way the paint is applied. Numbered L387.
