Unusual Inscribed Bicycle Trophy – Smokers Friend.
This is one of the most unusual trophies we’ve come across. It is a quadruple silver plate ashtray inscribed as 1st Prize in an 1897 bicycle race.

For starters, the ashtray itself is by James Tufts and is very well crafted with the embossed pipe and smoke. Then the engraving is also nicely done on the pipe bowl and stem.

Size: 3 3/4" high x 9 1/2"...

Trophy of Bronze from Columbia, America’s Cup Defender. Superb large loving cup trophy made from the bronze of the 1899 America’s Cup defender, Columbia. The original small plaque that certifies this is still firmly affixed to the bottom of the trophy. Columbia was victorious over the Irish challenger, Shamrock I, owned by Sir Thomas Lipton.

1909 Leather-Sterling Trophy… Indian Harbor Yacht Club. This is a very unusual, beautifully made loving cup made of leather with a copper liner and sterling silver rim. The plaque on the front reads:

Indian Harbor Yacht Club
Tennis, Fall Tournament 1909
Mens Doubles Won By
(no name engraved)

There is a yacht club by this name in Greenwich, Connecticut, so we suspect it is from there. In addition, the maker was Black, Starr &...

Large Loving Cup … 1900 Philadelphia Athletic Meet. This is a striking 3-handled trophy from what must have been a major event in 1900.

High quality engraving reads:
Indoor Athletic Meet
Philadelphia
March 3rd 1900
First Prize
Standing Hop Step & Jump

This is silver plate with the finish still in very good shape overall. A few very modest marks here and there. In some of my photos, it looks dull in places, but its...

Antique Silver Plated Presentation Teapot – Wonderful. This is a beautiful old teapot in its own right, but the inscription makes it special. It was presented in 1895 to a man leaving a company to take another job.

The inscription reads:
"Presented to Harry G. Shields, Esq.
along with a tea and Coffee Service as a mark of the esteem and regard in which he is held by the workers on the occasion of his leaving The Wallace Works to...
