A note on the back says this is an Argyll and Sutherland Highlander with a studio sword. This is a famous Scottish regiment that has been involved since 1794 in Great Britain’s military exploits, including the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. The sword certainly could be a studio prop, but it looks very realistic. Clear, sharp image. Size 4.25” x 6.5”. Photographer: Waddells’s Fine Arts Studio, 43, Wellmeadow, Paisley (Scotland). Condition is excellent with just modest edge wear and very slight scuffing near edge of image on right. |
