We are not experts on Civil War uniforms, but believe this to be a Union sailor from the Civil War. Tinted cheeks. This 1/6 plate tintype is still "sealed" inside its paper frame. The paper frame has been trimmed. Image is in pretty good shape. The surface has a slight haze to it.
