Here’s a great old tin box from the late 1800's. Size: 10 1/2" deep x 18" wide x 7" high. It is quite sturdy. The old brass clasp still works, as do the hinges.
We don’t know what the exact use of this box was, but the inside has handmade tin pockets for storage. You can see all the old soldering. There is also an inside ledge 2 1/2" down on both sides, so we suspect that there was an interior storage bin that would have fit inside.
As you would expect of an old tin box, there are modest dings, a few holes and some small splits, but overall this box is in very good condition.
