Only the Victorians could have turned a big event like grandpa’s birthday into a stiff-as-a-board photo memory. But what a fantastic Victorian parlor, overrun with patterned wallpaper, carpet, pillows and swags. Lots of family photographs on the piano and walls.

And then there is grandpa’s birthday cake with about 900 candles! The topper, though, is the off-in-space looks of all the participants who dare not look at the camera or at one another. This is an absolute classic from about 1910.
No photographer ID. Size: image is 6" x 8 1/4" (full mount is 10" x 12"). Condition is near mint. A great piece.
