Very interesting and detailed event photo of the Cabrillo Day parade in 1894. The miniature clipper ship is powered by two men on bicycles (or one two-person bike). To the right of the ship is an awning for Ingersoll’s Ice Cream. In the distance is a sign for Llewelyn’s Shoe Store.

There are several handwritten notations along the outer edge of the photo. One says "Bicycle Float Sept 28, 1894." Another one says "San Diego Calif, Cabrillo Day 1894." We looked up Cabrillo Day. It is celebrated in San Diego each year around the 28th of September and includes Portuguese music, dancing, and a renactment of the discovery of the San Diego Bay.

Photographer: None identified

Size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (slightly smaller than other cabinets)

Condition: Excellent. Just very moderate wear. Looks like it was kept in an album.
