The ship pre-dates the Titanic by seven years. She was built in 1905 by American Shipbuilding Company of Cleveland, Ohio as the Juanita of the Anchor Line, a subsidiary of the Pennsylvania Railroad. In 1940, she was rebuilt as the highly streamlined S.S. Milwaukee Clipper. She sailed the Great Lakes with runs between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Michigan and also between Milwaukee and Chicago. The "Queen of the Great Lakes" finally retired in 1970 and is now preserved as a National Historic Landmark in Muskegon. Pictures at .
