Limoges

From the mid-1850 th century, Limoges was the center of the porcelain industry of France, which at one time more than forty companies utized the local kaolin to make superior quality china. The most famous makers were Haviland,Ahrenfeldt and Son, A. Lanternier, R. Delinieres and Cie, Bernardaud and Cie, P.H. Leonard, Fontanille and Marraud, Raynaun and Cie, Union Limousine and others.

This Pot was made turn of the century and is embellished with small sweet roses. The marks are L.&E.Coiffe mark 2 and decorating mark ofFlambeau China mark 3. The picture tell the story of this pot.

Guerin produced this wonderful shape .

The use of porcelain was used at the turn of the century and was found in wealth homes as decoration for the ladies room. The items are around 9" tall and the mirror is 5" wide.

Lanternier Limoges Factory Decorated Teaset This Lanternier Limoges teaset is traditional roses which are hand painted. This wonderful set is a gem of a set with two different pictures of roses. I used Mary Gaston's book on Limoges for the reference for the marks. The Lanternier mark is number 5 which was used from 1891-1914. The other mark is a factory decorater mark number six. This set has no repairs or cracks.

W. Guerin Potpourri Urn This Urn is 19" tall with the cover on but because it has holds in the cover it is a potpourri. This item was made by W. Guerin in the Limoge district of France in the 1890" and was factory decorated with the factory stamp. The thing that sets this apart is the size it is the largest I have ever had and I know of only one other of this size. The potpourri is in excellent condition and free of any repairs.

It is Limoges and is around the turn of the 20 th century and is in great shape. It has not been repaired or or cracked or chipped. The bowel is 14 inches wide and 6 inches tall.
