Hand Made Sunflower Tile Fortunata Italian Really attractive hand made sunflower tile - hand painted in earth tones. This octagonal tile is signed on the side - "Made in Italy for Fortunata". Tile measures 7 1/2" point to point, 7" flat side to flat side - very thick at 3/4". Condition is excellent. Age is unknown - definitely a retro feel to it though. (#T-2077)

Great Vintage Tile of a Gazelle Outstanding glaze colors on this hand painted tile with a central design of a sleek gazelle. The cobalt blue is vibrant, and the gold is shimmery. Done on a blank by the Wheeling Tile Company, of Wheeling, West Virginia. Measures 6" in diameter. Probably made in the 1950's-60's. The tile is in great condition. (#1851)

Zanesville Ohio Tile with Woman and Parasol Made by the Standard Tile Company, of Zanesville, Ohio, circa 1930. Done in raised line technique (which looks like tube lining), this shows a woman with a great long dress, carrying a parasol and a purse. Background color is pale yellow, and the design in in white, a light blue green and black. Upper right corner has a chip, and a surface line - there is some dirt in the crazing lines. Would show well in a frame! (#1759)

Moravian Tile Stover Myers Mill Made in 1987 at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - this octagonal tile depicts the Stover - Myers Mill in Bedminster Township. Measures 5 1/4" from side to side, and is 1/2" thick. Nice green glaze in the recesses. In very nice condition. (# 1031)

European Figural Tile Interesting figure of a person holding a tall lance or pole - done in an unusual yellow background glaze color. I believe this is transfer printed and hand colored. Giraffe & Squirrel Whimsical Tile Great retro / vintage tile with a giraffe, a squirrel and another cute animal. Hand made - measures 3 3/4" square - the animal outlines are raised. Harris Strong Pottery Lion Dish Fabulous lion depicted in the middle of this long pottery dish. Made by Harris Strong, probably in the 1950's, this measures 10" long x 4 1/8" wide by 1 1/4" high. Yellow semi matte glazes surround the lion figure. The lion has a red main and tail, blue green eyes and a white face. Excellent condition. Marked on the back with the number "8 - 81" and Harris G Strong. (#T-1465)

Moravian Brocade Tile Man with Hoop This depicts a boy playing with an old fashioned hoop and stick toy. Measures 4 1/4" high x 4" wide. There's a small chip on the left hand, a rub on the right hand, a small nip on the hoop, and a large side chip - still displays nicely. Generally in good condition. Three Moravian Pottery Zodiac Brocade Tiles Nice set of three tiles, made by the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Each measures approx. 2 1/2", both ways. The blue fish, representing Pisces (I think) is a high glaze blue and is dated 1989. The other fish is a semi-matte gold glaze and is dated 1990. The crab tile - representing Cancer, is a matte green and is dated 1990. All three are in excellent condition. (#T-2074)

Portuguese Tile Made by Gresval, this tile from Portugal boasts an outstanding combination of glazes. The background is a gun metal black with a matte finish. The interior designs have a crackled glass look, done in a bright blue and browns. This measures 6 1/4" square. I am unsure of the age of the tile, but it looks to be around 1940 - 1950. There is minor edge roughness and a tight factory firing line. Great for a moderne or retro look! (#1018)
