American Olean Cactus Tile This tile shows a cactus in the foreground and hills in the background. Done in both wax resist method and glaze painting, the detail and pooling of glazes in wonderful! Heavy red clay body - the back is marked American Olean Quarry Tile USA on the back. Measures 6" square and is 1/2" thick. In outstanding condition. A very unusual tile for American Olean - as their main production was bathroom floor and wall tile. Circa 1960's. Harris Strong Pottery Lion Dish Fabulous lion depicted in the middle of this long pottery dish. Made by Harris Strong, probably in the 1950's, this measures 10" long x 4 1/8" wide by 1 1/4" high. Yellow semi matte glazes surround the lion figure. The lion has a red main and tail, blue green eyes and a white face. Excellent condition. Marked on the back with the number "8 - 81" and Harris G Strong. (#T-1465)

Moravian Tile Stover Myers Mill Made in 1987 at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - this octagonal tile depicts the Stover - Myers Mill in Bedminster Township. Measures 5 1/4" from side to side, and is 1/2" thick. Nice green glaze in the recesses. In very nice condition. (# 1031)

Taurus Tile by Schreckengost / Summitville Made while at Summitville Tile, this was designed by Don Schreckengost. One of his famous "sculptured Zodiac" lines of tiles - this is Taurus - the bull. Done in a gold over black glaze. Measures just over 6" square. Extreme relief - over 2" - probably the highest relief I've seen on a tile. Heavy - red clay body, inscribed Summitville on the back. Harris Strong Animals Tile Panel This sixteen tile panel has crude figures of animals on it - reminiscent of the drawings of cave dwellers. Hand painted in earth tones of browns, blacks, tans, and blues with a "splatter" paint motif throughout. Each of the tiles is roughly 4" square. The framed panel measures just over 12" wide by 39" long. In excellent condition - circa 1960's. Great for a retro or modern look.

Bugs Bunny Tile What a neat tile! It's Bugs Bunny dressed up in his version of Uncle Sam in red, white and blue - wearing a top hat and tuxedo and carrying a cane! Done for Marriott's Great America, this is copyrighted by Warner Brothers, Inc. and dated 1975. The ceramic tile measures 4 1/4" square, and is permanently mounted in its original metal holder, which allows the tile to stand up. Decal is done in gray, white, blue, red and yellow. Small shallow flake on the top edge - but generally in very nice condition. Great collectible item for the Bugs Bunny fan in your life! (#1812)

Westraven Tile May 9 1945 May 9th, 1945 is known as Victory Day, and Victory in Europe Day (and VE Day). It's a day that many millions of people around the world remember well. Moravian Pottery Brocade Figural Tile This is a very interesting "cut out" or brocade tile made by the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, of Doylestown, PA in 1976. It measures 7" long by 4" at its widest. A Mayan or Aztec type man wearing an ornate necklace and holding a club. A factory glaze pop in the headress. In excellent condition. (# T-1417)

Set of Commemorative Tiles - Tile Heritage Foundation Nice group of tiles made for the Tile Heritage Foundation, of Healdsburg, California - these commemorated various tile festivals and conferences over the years. The cream color tile was made in 1992 - marked Tile Art with Concept Studio. Nice palm tree with a treasure chest overflowing with bounty - done in very high relief - measures 4 1/8". The star form tile was from 1994- by Sonoma Tilemakers in Windsor, CA - nice Phoenix bird in matte glazes - measures 5 1/2" point to point. The 1993 tile is from Terra Clay - matte green glaze - 5 7/8" x 2 7/8". The fourth tile was made by Handcraft Tile of Milpitas - not dated - about 3 3/4" square. All tiles are in excellent condition. Three Fantoni Style Moderne tiles Set of three lozenge shaped ceramic tiles, set into wood frames. Each frame is 13 5/8" long by 5" wide. The tiles have curved edges and measures 6 ¾"; long by 2 3/8" wide. They are hand painted with a shiny clear glaze on top. Designs of 3 stylized woman wearing fun hats. They look very much like the work of Fantoni (Italy), but are not signed. All are in excellent condition. (#T-1301)

Zanesville Ohio Tile with Woman and Parasol Made by the Standard Tile Company, of Zanesville, Ohio, circa 1930. Done in raised line technique (which looks like tube lining), this shows a woman with a great long dress, carrying a parasol and a purse. Background color is pale yellow, and the design in in white, a light blue green and black. Upper right corner has a chip, and a surface line - there is some dirt in the crazing lines. Would show well in a frame! (#1759)

Roger Capron tile clock Roger Capron is a highly sought after French artist. Born in 1922 in Paris - his mid century ceramics are wonderful. This unusual tile clock measures 6 1/4" high by 3 7/8" wide. The tile body is 3/4" thick. Hand painted with flowers and leaves, checkered pattern on bottom, with an incised and hand painted clock face. Signed R. CAPRON above the VI on the face. Clear majolica glaze on the tile face. Condition - there is a chip on the upper top edge, approximately 1/8" square. Bottom left corner thin clay chip. Two small backside chips.

The miniature quartz clock movement (and hands) are new, and are not "permanently" affixed. This is easily removed and can be re-inserted after shipping. (#T1128)

Arius Tile with a Petroglyph Drawing Made by the Arius Tile Company, of New Orleans, Louisiana, this tile has a design similar to a petroglyph stick figure drawing. The design is incised in the clay - a milky white glaze flows around it. The tile measures 3 1/2" square by 5/8" thick. Nice original paper label remains on the back - the tile is in very nice condition, with only 1 small top edge chip. Probably made in the 1970's or so. (#1210)
