T1879

Teco Pottery Matte Green Cabinet Vase Great small Teco pottery vase. Made around 1910, the glaze on this lovely piece typifies the "Teco green" - a micro crystalline smooth green glaze. The vase stands 3 3/4" high and about 3 1/4" at its widest. The vase is a classic oriental style. There are no chips or cracks. There are two very small glaze impurities – see the photos.

Teco was actually the product line of The American Terra Cotta Tile and Ceramic Company. The company was founded in 1881 just outside of Chicago, Illinois. More than 120 years later, their pottery continues to exemplify the spirit and excellence of the Arts & Crafts Movement in the United States. (#T-1879)

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item T1466: American Encaustic AETCO Advertising Pottery Inkwell

Click for more detail...

T1466

American Encaustic AETCO Advertising Pottery Inkwell This outstanding ceramic inkwell was made by the American Encaustic Tiling Company, of Zanesville, Ohio, as an advertising piece, for their company. The inkwell has an area for two pens to rest (near the front), and two wells for ink, with the original pottery lids. The AETCO logo, within a circle, sits between the two wells. The logo is faint because the glaze was so heavily pooled. done in varying shades of blue, with tints of gold showing up in places, the glaze is truly wonderful. This measures just shy of 6" across, 5" from back to front, and sits about 1 1/2" high. Dating the pottery made by AET is tricky; my best guess is that this was made around 1930 - 1940. The well, and the two lids, are in excellent condition. (#T-1466)

T2032

Art Pottery Matte Green Elephant Lamp Really fabulous pottery lamp with a matte green glaze and sporting side "handles" that are elephant heads with upturned trunks. This is a smaller table lamp - perfect for a bedroom dresser - and measures 9" high to the top of the socket, and is about 6" in diameter. The hole for the cord is factory drilled and glazed. I do not know the manufacturer. This looks to be at least "vintage", perhaps even true Arts & Crafts Movement. It is in excellent condition. No cracks, hairlines, or chips. In working condition.
