A truly fabulous book titled "Terra-Cotta Skyline" by Susan Tunick - pub. by Princeton Architectural Press, 1997, First Edition, hard bound, 160 pages.
The terra cotta industry in America is chronicled starting from 1848 - through the late 1920's. The photography is grand - many color photos as well as old photos, postcards, and advertising. Every company that should be in here is in here, from Gladding McBean to LA Pressed Brick. If you love tiles, this book will thrill you - architecture fans will equally marvel at the work presented.
Slightly scuffed dustjacket with a label on the back - otherwise in unused condition.

This is a group of 3 issues of Flashpoint - of particular interest to those who like old or antique tiles might be information on: Ernest Batchelder and Batchelder Tiles, Muresque, Andalusisan tiles, Rufus Keeler and Calco tiles, Mexican tiles, and Henry Chapman Mercer and Moravian tiles. The issues are July - Sept 1992, Oct. -Dec 1992, and Special Edition 1991. All issues are gently used.

William De Morgan and His Wife - Stirling
This truly interesting book is titled "William DeMorgan and His Wife" - by A. M. W. Stirling - published by Henry Holt - 1922 - this is the "Authorized Edition". De Morgan discusses his life and the life of his wife, Evelyn, and their lives together. He waxes poetic about tiles, pottery, drawing, design periods (such as Merton and Chelsea), and anecdotal happenings. This is profusely illustrated in black and white. 403 pages - hard back. Tears to the binding on the inside covers and some discoloration to the covers - the inside pages are clean. An outstanding and amusing reference book for those who love DeMorgan's pottery and tiles.

American Art Pottery by Dick Sigafoose - Another relatively new, terrific, hard back book on the market. At least half of the items are tile, contrary to the title of the book. Very different than "American Art Tile", as the author had different collecting interests. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, buy this as your "first" American art tile book! 272 pages, published by Collector Books.

Old Hungarian Stove Tiles book
By Voit and Holl, this 6 ½" x 7" hardback book was published in 1963 by Corvina Press in Hungary. Contains 48 plates of stove tiles, most in black/white, and 64 pages of text. Fascinating history and details of stove and stove tiles from the 13th - late 16th centuries in Europe. Out of print - generally excellent condition. There are very minor tears to the dust jacket - however, this is the first copy I have seen that even has a dust jacket!

Collecting Victorian Tiles book by Lockett
If you buy only one book on English tiles, this should be the one! Small format book (about 9" x 6"), hard back, and just filled with great photos and accurate text. 239 pages, originally published in 1979 by Antique Collectors’ Club - this edition is 1994. This is an unused book - the dust jacket has some bends and wear but the interior pages are clean and bright. A large portion of the book deals with English transfer printed and hand painted series tiles. Nicely divided into subject categories, easy to use and just an overall excellent reference book on tiles.

California Tile - Hispano-Moresque to Woolenius
Brand new outstanding hard cover book solely dedicated to California tiles. This is book 2 of a two book series. Published in 2004 by Schiffer Publishing, and put together by The California Heritage Museum. There are 248 glorious pages of tiles - great color photos! Each chapter is written by a different author - and "yours truly" wrote the chapter on Tudor Potteries for this book. So, you'll get a signed copy of this book (at least for one chapter!). New, unused condition.

The Decorated Tile Book- by J & B Austwick
A great out of print reference book, mostly covering English tiles, tile makers, and designers. Hard back, 160pp, First Canadian Edition, Collier Macmillan Canada Ltd., 1980. In depth discussions and photos of many factories, such as Wedgwood, and the "Minton’s"; one chapter on photographic tiles, and a 20 page appendix on identifying tiles (with many backmarks!). Also very useful is an appendix that lists, by company, the "popular picture tile series" and each of their components. This is an oustanding reference work in excellent condition.
