Vintage Magazines with Tile and Pottery Articles Great group of 9 old trade magazines, all with invaluable reference articles on antique tiles and Arts & Crafts Movement pottery companies. Included are: the Antiques Journal from May 1970 and July 1977; Spinning Wheel (antiques magazine) from: Nov. 1970, Dec. 1970, Nov. 1971, Dec. 1971, Jan. 1973, June 1973, Sept. 1973, and a subject index to Spinning Wheel magazine for 1977.

Portuguese Tiles book The full book title is "Portuguese Tiles from the National Museum of Azulejo, Lisbon". Superb photos of tiles - and there are hundreds of tiles photographed in the book! Published in 1998 by Scala Books, London, this 128 page soft cover book is a treasure. This is in unused condition. There are some scuffs and minor scratching to the back cover. There are many examples of tiles that are from the 20th century as well - an excellent reference book, and very hard to find.

Tile Heritage Foundation Newsletters 2000-2003 This is a group of 5 issues of Flashpoint - of particular interest to those who like old or antique tiles might be: "The California Collector" featuring pottery bookends, Tile Backmarks, tiles made by "Irina Lorin", The Spanish Tile Company, and Rookwood Faience. The issues are Jan-March 2000, Apr-Sept 2000, Oct 2000-June2001, July-Dec 2001, and Jan2002-June 2003 (this issue has a printing mishap on the front cover). All issues are gently used.

Old Hungarian Stove Tiles book By Voit and Holl, this 6 ½" x 7" hardback book was published in 1963 by Corvina Press in Hungary. Contains 48 plates of stove tiles, most in black/white, and 64 pages of text. Fascinating history and details of stove and stove tiles from the 13th - late 16th centuries in Europe. Out of print - generally excellent condition. There are very minor tears to the dust jacket - however, this is the first copy I have seen that even has a dust jacket!

The Waverley Novels Published in New York, by George Routledge & Sons - this is titled "The Waverley Novels" by Sir Walter Scott, Bart. This undated book contains Guy Mannering and Redgauntlet. It also contains a "Fragment of a Romance which was to have been entitled, "Thomas The Rhymer" and "The Lord of Emmerdale"." This hardback book is 410 pages, and has many illustrations (black and white). There are tears to the bindings and wear to the covers - although the boards still have a nice impressed design and gilt. The previous owner's name is on the inside page. An interesting and nice looking book for those tile collectors who love the Mintons English Waverley Novels series tiles!

Collecting Victorian Tiles book by Lockett If you buy only one book on English tiles, this should be the one! Small format book (about 9" x 6"), hard back, and just filled with great photos and accurate text. 239 pages, originally published in 1979 by Antique Collectors’ Club - this edition is 1994. This is an unused book - the dust jacket has some bends and wear but the interior pages are clean and bright. A large portion of the book deals with English transfer printed and hand painted series tiles. Nicely divided into subject categories, easy to use and just an overall excellent reference book on tiles.
