Columbus Tile by Pardee
Made by the C Pardee Works, Perth Amboy, New Jersey - this 4 1/4" tile depicts Christopher Columbus. Done in the intaglio technique, with a high green glaze. C Pardee was in business from 1890 - 1928. This tile was probably made to commemorate the 1893-94 Columbian Exposition. Minor edge roughness. (#1337)

Beaver Falls Stove Tiles
This is a terrific matched pair of stove tiles made by the Beaver Falls Art Tile Company, in Beaver Falls, PA., circa 1880. Each tile shows a portrait - one facing left, one facing right - done in a gold majolica glaze. The tiles measure 2 1/8" in diameter and are press molded in medium relief. The portrait facing right has a very small glaze nip at 6:00 o'clock. The back of the portrait tile facing left has a large chip. Generally, both tiles are in nice condition and display beautifully.
