T1128
Roger Capron tile clock Roger Capron is a highly sought after French artist. Born in 1922 in Paris - his mid century ceramics are wonderful. This unusual tile clock measures 6 1/4" high by 3 7/8" wide. The tile body is 3/4" thick. Hand painted with flowers and leaves, checkered pattern on bottom, with an incised and hand painted clock face. Signed R. CAPRON above the VI on the face. Clear majolica glaze on the tile face. Condition - there is a chip on the upper top edge, approximately 1/8" square. Bottom left corner thin clay chip. Two small backside chips.

The miniature quartz clock movement (and hands) are new, and are not "permanently" affixed. This is easily removed and can be re-inserted after shipping. (#T1128)

Click for more detail...
T1805
Leather Covered Pottery Dog Bank This is a bank for coins, in the shape of a dog - which is made from a clay body and then covered with leather. Measures about 8" long by 6" high and approx. 3" wide. There is a hole in the bottom - for which I have a rubber stopper to hold the coins in. The leather is very well worn, from just oodles of handling! When looking inside the hole on the underside, there 3 apparent cracks in the clay. However, the leather covering is thick enough to keep the piece nicely intact. An amazing and fairly unusual item for dog lovers. Age, maker and country of origin are unknown. (#T-1805)

Alphonse Cytere luster pottery set This marvelous set is a tankard pitcher and 4 matching mugs. The pieces all have an iridescent luster glaze. Best description is probably a dark cranberry lots of black to grey glaze flowing as well. The glaze is truly superior. There are 4 handled mugs and one large tankard pitcher. The mugs are approximately 4 ¾" tall , with a bottom diameter of 3 ¾". The tankard is just over 10" tall, the bottom diameter is 4 ¾". One of the mugs has three tight firing cracks showing on the bottom. All other pieces are in excellent condition.
