Oriental Rug Magazines This is a wonderful set of magazines for reference, research or just curiosity, about rugs of all types. Titled "Oriental Rug Review", the magazines date from between 1987 - 1992. There are a total of 29 magazines plus Volume 8 index, Volume 9 index, and Volume 10 index. All of these are in very good condition, and contain hundreds of color photographs of rugs and weavings. A must have for anyone interested in rugs!

Wilkinson Collection of Antique Toys Exhibition Book Titled "Made for New York: Antique Toys from The Lawrence Scripps Wilkinson Collection", this paperback was published in 1986 by the New-York Historical Society. Within its 80 pages, there is a 6 page essay on New York’s toys from 1875 - 1939. There are both color and black and white photographs, and a 6 page index of some toy manufacturers.

The groups of toys include circus, teddy bears, games, banks, trains, dolls, ships, Christmas and others. Some of the makers include: Alexander Doll Company, Francis Carpenter, Effanbee, Ideal Toy, Lionel, Moline Pressed Steel and many others. The book is in very nice condition with only some rubs to the front cover and extremely minor bending. Great photographs and nice text.

The Oriental Rug book - Coen and Duncan This out of print, hard cover book is profusely and beautifully illustrated with color photographs and sketches. 192 pages, written by Luciano Coen and Louise Duncan, published in 1978 by Harper & Row - this is a first edition. Part 1 of the book covers weaving, color and age, buying and selling and living with rugs. Part 2 is split into 5 geographic areas - Persia, Turkey, The Caucasus, Central Asia, and China. A history is given, as well as finely drawn and detailed pattern items, borders, etc. Then, each page that follows in the section has a full color photograph of the carpet, rug or textile, with its name, age, warp and weft details, and a fabulous lengthy description. An excellent reference or coffee table book. Dust jacket has minor creasing on edges, interior pages very nice.

The Kovel's Collectors' Guide to American Art Pottery This still remains one of the better pottery reference books. Published in 1974 by Crown Publishers, 368 pages, hard bound, 10 1/4" x 7 1/8". Has a terrific index, very decent marks, photographs, drawings, and catalog pages - one section of color photographs. Handbook of Cigar Boxes - Hyman Very nice out of print, hard cover book dedicated to cigar boxes of all types, and all things having to do with them. Written by Tony Hyman in 1979, this first edition book was published by Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York. 165 pp. The first sections cover wooden, metal, glass, plastic and cardboard cigar boxes. He spends a chapter discussing legal notices, and another on revenue stamps. Box trim, advertising labels and special brand are discussed in chapter form. Heavily illustrated with black and white photos, line drawings, sketches, and examples. A thoroughly intruiging book!

This is signed by the author and dated 6/1/96 by the author. This is #2718 of a limited edition of 3000 copies. Dust jacket has minor creasing at edges - interior pages are excellent. This comes with a separate 1996-1997 Cigar Box Price Guide printed by the author.
