Liberty Bell Novelty This piece stands 3 ¾" h x 3 ¼" wide at base. It reads " LEV XXV-X Proclaim Liberty Throughout the Land and to All the Inhabitants Thereof". Below that inscription, "Liberty Bell" and below that "1776." On the inside bottom " Pat. Apl’d For." Metz pictures this bell in "Much More Early American Pattern Glass", pg. 210. 4860

Lion Head Glass Novelty Some collectors of Lion glass believe this was originally a jar lid. I have not seen any documentation of the maker or original use. It is a superb piece of glass. You will find in raised letters on the center back the word "PENDING". My assumption is that the patent was pending on this design. Great detail in eyes, nose and mouth. Frosted glass. 3 ½" d. x 1 7/8" h. Three miniscule flakes on the front at 4 and 5 o’clock. (#4860)

N144

Covered Cart Novelty This amazing wheeled cart actually turns its large 3" cut wheels on an axle. It measures 6 ¾" long from the handle frame to the back edge and is 3 ½" wide. The frame has a great patina. The fitted lid design matches the striped design at the front of the cart. It may have been designed as a cigarette box, although I can picture someone saying " Have an olive?" Probably 1920’s – 1930’s. One tiny, tiny flake on the inside edge of the box. (#N144)
