Wedgwood Ivanhoe Plate Friar Tuck & Black Knight This antique Wedgwood blue transferware plate is titled Friar Tuck Entertains the Black Knight. The scene shows the Friar standing and talking to the Black Knight, while the knight eats from a bowl. Standing next to the table are two dogs. The design around the edge has portraits of Coeur de Lion, Rebecca, Isaac of York, Lady Rowenna, and others along with running hares, pheasants, chickens, grouse, fish and flowers. A masterful design! Measures 10" in diameter. Circa 1890. This is in excellent condition. (There was also a lovely set of transferware tiles created with these Ivanhoe scenes.) (#T-1201)

Sarreguemines Battle Series Plate Made by Sarreguemines, France, c. 1870. 7 ¾" d. Green and black transfer printed. Border carries words " Patrie, Gloire, Honneur." Both transfer and impressed marks on back. An "L" hairline extends 1 ½" downward and 1 ½" sideways to the right of "Patrie."

Worcester Cty Agricultural Society ironstone plate This 8 ¾” ironstone plate says “Worcester County Meet” , “AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY”, “CHARTERED”, “1851”. Made in England, from around 1851, this transfer design is surrounded by a “cartouche wreath of wheat, corn and flowers…” see Petra Williams book “Staffordshire II” page 387. Although the transfer is blurred, the plate is in very nice condition.
