T1456

Dartmouth Footed Cake Stand ca 1860 Cakestands, or cake plates, are not often found in romantic staffordshire. This lovely example is in the "Dartmouth" pattern, made in England around 1860. Done in black transfer on a cream background the designs are wonderful: picture frames of Norwich, Dartmouth Castle, Salisbury Cathedral, and another ocean scene with gulls. 3 small scenes are printed on the underside of the plate as well. This Aesthetic Movement piece measures 9 1/2" in diameter and is 5" high. The dogwoods and butterflies on this are fabulous! There is light staining to the underside of the foot. Otherwise, this piece is in excellent condition. (#T-1456)
