This southern folk pottery dates from the 1930's through the present. All of these pieces are hand thrown. Many of these pieces are from the potteries of the Seagrove area of North Carolina. Also included are Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia pottery. Included are pots from AR Cole, JB Cole, Pisgah Forest, North State, Williamsburg, CC Cole and many other well known and talented potters.

Covered Small North Carolina Pot Nice small usable piece of southern folk pottery probably dating from the 1940's to 50's. Blue green speckled glaze. Measures 3" high to top of finial of the lid - use as a great mustard pot.
Many small glaze nips around the top rim. (#T1406)

Nell Cole Graves Mottled Green Tea Set This is a beautifully crafted tea set, hand thrown by Nell Cole Graves of JB Cole Pottery. It consists of a tea pot with lid, a covered sugar bowl and a creamer. Done in that wonderful "mottled green" glaze! Teapot measures 5 1/4" high by 4 3/4" diam, sugar bowl measures 2 7/8" high (3 1/4" high with the lid) and approx. 4 1/2" diam, and the creamer measures 3" high by 4 1/2" diam. The pitcher was two shallow flakes on the top edge - one is underneath the spout the other is on the inside rim (both are about 1/4" long). The sugar has an extremely shallow 1/4" long flake on the inside rim butting up to the handle. Typical JB Cole belt sander marks on the bottoms and nicely thinly thrown pots. Circa 1950's. (#NC066)

Chinese Blue Mug - w/lots of red Nice and large southern folk pottery handled mug, done in a double glaze of Chinese blue - nice bright blue showing through. Measures 3 7/8" high. The cup itself (not including the handle) is 4 1/4" in diam, and with the handle about 5 1/2". In excellent condition. (#NC054)

Southern Folk Pottery Tall Yellow Pot Nice piece of hand thrown southern pottery - measuring about 12 1/2" tall - by about 4 1/2" at the widest - 2 handles. Very similar to Naples yellow glaze with overdrips in a deeper, darker gold. Unmarked - could be C C Cole Pottery - circa 1940's-50's. One very minor glaze chip on the foot - less than 1/8". AR Cole Split Handled Medicine Jar Nice round shape with great split handles on this piece of southern folk pottery. Called both an apothecary jar and a medicine jar. Measures 4 5/8" high and the widest point is about 5 3/4". Two separate bands of lines - each band has 3 lines. Two very small old chips on inside of rim, and 1 very small chip on foot. AR Cole - circa 1930's.
