Ruth the Gleaner Statuette The Ruth statuette was made by Gillinder for the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition, 1876. She is shown as a gleaner, resting on one knee with wisps of grain in each hand. 4 ½" h x 2 ½" base. An inscription on the base reads "Gillinder & Sons Centennial Exhibition." A 1/8" base chip appears on the underside of the base with a small bit being obvious from the front view. (#5824)

Sancho Panza ABC Plate This 6" ABC plate is a Gillinder product, c. 1880’s. Sancho is leaning over his burro/donkey named Dapple. A sloppy application during the frosting process caused some liquid to drip onto a clear section of the underside as well as on the underside between the letters " W and Z". The glass itself is in excellent condition. (#5827)

Etched Glass Tumbler Palais Ducal Nancy Details abound on this glass thin walled tumbler of the Palais Ducal, Nancy (France-Lorraine). 4" h x 2 5/8" w. Etching is very finely detailed from the knight on horseback to the great architectural spires and windows. This tumbler is probably of French origin, c. 1910. (5800)

Julia Marlowe Match Safe This porcelain match safe represents Julia Marlowe, the stage name of Sarah Frances Frost, an American actress who rose to stardom in Shakespearean plays and modern drama in the late 1890’s. GAR Glass Platter This rectangular glass platter ( bread plate ) honors the Grand Army of the Republic which was organized in 1866. The GAR insignia forms the center panel. Engraved in small letters on the medal in that center panel is " Grand Army of the Republic Veteran 1861-1866." United States shields decorate the corners. Illustrated in Lindsey "American Historical Glass. " 11 1/8" l x 7 5/8" w. c. 1870-1880. Excellent condition. (#5593)
