Ulysses S. Grant Patriot Bowl Maker unknown, c. 1885. 9 ¼" d x 1 ¾" h. Finely crafted frosted bust of Grant in center surrounded by words " Gen. Ulysses S. Grant The Patriot and Soldier." There are many plates featuring Grant. But bowls are much more difficult to find. Excellent condition, no chips or scratches. (6083)

Woodrow Wilson Photographic Tile This antique tile was made by J H Barratt & Company, in Stoke on Trent, England, in 1910. George Cartlidge was the "sculptor" of this photographic tile. This depicts Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States. The tile measures 9" x 6". It is mounted in a period wood frame, which measures approx. 12 1/2" x 9 1/2". The tile is in very nice condition. Normal age crazing is present, as are under glaze bubbles in the lower left part of the tile. (#T-2035)

Mt. Vernon Porcelain Rosenthal Plate Made by Thomas, an independent subsidiary of Rosenthal. This mark was used between 1908 and 1939. 9 ¾" d. A softly hued hand painted rendering of George Washington’s home, Mt. Vernon graces the center of the plate. The gold rimmed border is surrounded by an inner gold rimmed flower border and enhanced with a third gold filigree border. Gold is in very good condition. There are three 1/16" – 1/8" obvious worn spots on the painting. The back mark indicates this was part of the Sevres series, and also shows the decorator’s name of Tatler, plus the number 550. Excellent condition. (288E)

Garfield Memorial Mug Adams & Co. made this mug, c. 1881. 2 ¼" h x 1 7/8" d. One side depicts Garfield’s bust and name, the other is draped with the dates of his birth and death. The underfoot has beads which rest on the table, all in perfect condition as is the rest of the mug. (5999)

Bryan Covered Cup A covered cup, which some call covered mustards, manufactured by the US Glass Company in 1896 to promote the candidacy of William Jennings Bryan. Much more rare than the covered McKinley cup. His slogan "The People’s Money" appears above his head, and below the bust is written "Wm. J. Bryan".5" high with lid, 3 ½" without lid x 3 ½" d. Wheeling George Washington / Crest Tile Made by the Wheeling Tile Company, of Wheeling, West Virgina, this cool tile is a replica of the "George Washington Bookplate". So, all you librarians and bibliophiles need this! Measuring 6" square, this is done in a pressed raised line technique. Background is cream, the eagle and crown are in yellow, the crest is done in cranberry and gray, and the words are in brown raised line. The Latin words translate to "The result justifies the deed". Overall surface crazing - and one tiny flake on the top edge, circa 1950. Generally very nice. (#1025)

A matte blue background with a relief molded likeness of Lincoln in white Jasperware-type fashion. Measures 3" high x 3 ½" across. President Garfield Tumbler This is a thick walled tumbler with a medallion bust of President Garfield pressed into the base. He is framed by a Laurel Wreath, underneath which is printed "Garfield."
