This 6" square tile depicts John Bright, and is done in a honey amber majolica glaze. Made by J C Edwards, of England, circa 1890, tiles from this company are hard to come by. John Bright was an important figure in British social and political areas. More information on him can be found on the web doing a search under his name. Executed in both molded relief and intaglio techniques. There is some minor edge roughness, and minimal surface glaze wear. Generally, very nice condition. (#1557)
