This clear glass bank, with original slotted tin lid, measures 3 5/8" in height and 3 1/2" across the base. There is a shallow 1/4" chip at the top of the molded glass threading.
In an effort to squeeze as many words as possible on this bank, the maker's wrote "LEV. XXVXX". Also on the bank "Proclaim liberty throughout the land to all the inhabitants thereof". Just below that is "By order of the Assembly of the Province of PENNA. for the Statehouse in the Philada". The words "Pass and Stow" appear near the molded crack - under that "Philad. a" and under that "MDCCLIII". On the base are the words "Design patent pending" - in the center of the base there are two number "184" and "7". Probably circa 1876.
Key words: Worlds Fair, world fair, Columbian Exposition, Columbian Expo, president, presidential, early american pattern glass, EAPG, centennial, sesquicentennial, political memorabilia
