This 8 ¾” ironstone plate says “Worcester County Meet” , “AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY”, “CHARTERED”, “1851”. Made in England, from around 1851, this transfer design is surrounded by a “cartouche wreath of wheat, corn and flowers…” see Petra Williams book “Staffordshire II” page 387. Although the transfer is blurred, the plate is in very nice condition.
