Manufacturer: Providential tile works A super set of 4 stove tiles, made by the Providential Tile Works, of Trenton, New Jersey. These date around 1880 - 1890 and all 4 are the same design - 5 open flowers - probably sunflowers. Done in a greenish gold majolica glaze (very typical of the period), each tile measures 2 5/8" in diameter (across the back). Two tiles have had hangers fashioned for the back, two do not. The mark on these is unusual - T.P.T.W. - which stands for "The Providential Tile Works" - usually displayed as PTW. All four tiles are in excellent condition. Great for antique parlor stove restoration, or to add to your collection! (#T-1125)
