This is a very nice jug made by WMF, Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik , in silverplate. This was either designed as a coffee pot or a hot water jug. This is 8 ½” tall (to the top of the finial), and has a base diameter of 3 ½”. The bottom is impressed with the WMF “bee hive” mark that was introduced in 1909. Above this is the number “105” and below the mark is “1 L”. The main body is planished and the rest of the metal is smooth. A nice graceful spout complements the piece. This is in good condition. There is a ½” x ¼” section on the handle (on the side of the top portion), where the metal is worn through. Surface wear is apparent, but this is still highly presentable and usable.
