Alhambra was a line of tiles produced by the American Encaustic Tiling Company, of Zanesville, Ohio. Circa 1920, this 6" square tile has a mosaic look with 4 pink fleur de lys in the center, surrounded by a circle, and 4 larger fleur de lys in the corners - off white background color. Someone affixed to wood pieces to the bottom, and then painted these, the back and the sides a dark brown color - turning this into a wonderfully usable trivet! One small flake on side edge and a tiny bit of discoloration (truly barely noticeable) in one corner. Generally nice condition. We have a pair of these in stock - please see "American Encaustic Alhambra Tile - #2" in our inventory. (#1804)
