This stove tile depicts a portrait of a young boy. He is adorned with a lacy collar (typical of Victorian costume) and a cap. Measuring 3" in diameter, this is done in an unusual green majolica glaze. Generally in nice condition - there are minor nips around the bolt hole, a small section of his collar, and minor rim roughness. The tile bears Isaac Broome's cipher (a conjoined I and B) to the right of the bottom of the child's' cap (at about 4 o'clock). Unmarked on the back - made at either the Providential Tile Company of the Trent Tile Company. Signed Broome stove tiles are one of the harder antique tiles to come across.
